One of the few sunny winter days and the first snow of the year in our region.
Whenever I see such old trees (here an apple tree) I want to capture them in the picture. As a result of intensive agricultural use, trees are rarely replanted. In addition, every year some trees fall victim to the winter storms, as well as a few days ago here in the area.

As usual I had my 105 lens on the camera yesterday evening as I took a stroll after work, but this beautiful blackbird let me get amazingly close before he flew away!
www.flickr.com/photos/joanatkinson/ one for you Joan, though he's not as colourful as your beauty!

Here in the UK today, Sunday 22 March, it's Mothering Sunday; the strangest one ever for all mothers in the country. We all usually all go out for lunch - today my children & grandchildren left my presents outside my front door and we spoke to one another through the (closed) window; the practise of social distancing.
This artwork is from some of the flowers I received.
Ah well - I've plenty of chocolates to keep me going!
No sit-in here, but there have been several in Union Square in the past.Historically, most marches,sit-ins,and protests have been on the northern end of the intersection. The people in the shot are most likely students from NYU taking their lunch period, although some also live in dorms in the area. They're sitting on steps in the southern end of Union Square Park where protests have been as of late.Love those street lamps:-) Union Square:Colonial-end Crossroads forgotten-nyc.com,Jul 2nd.Check out this great link.I like the one with all the cool fedora hats occupiedmedia.us/2012/03/a-brief-history-of-union-square-...
A single of the super small blossoms of Euphorbia (Wolfsmilch) is rather inconspicuous, but if many thousands cover the ground and shine in all shades of sunny colors, that's a gorgeous sight!
Have a sunny day everyone 🌞

"Rapeseed", also known as rape, oilseed rape, rapa, rappi, rapaseed, is a bright-yellow flowering member of the family Brassicaceae, consumed in China and Southern Africa as a vegetable. The name derives from the Latin for turnip, rāpa or rāpum, and is first recorded in English at the end of the 14th century. Wikipedia. This particular field was in Kent somewhere. I couldn't resist taking a photo of this with the sky so blue with those lovely plump fluffy clouds. Looks like summer has arrived, for a while anyway.
I met this Blue-billed Duck acompanying two Pink-eared Ducks on the surprisingly sunny afternoon yesterday.
