Sunbathing at Seafaire

Sunbathers on Junkanoo Beach Nassau Paradise Island Bahamas

An English couple enjoying the sunshine at The Hydro at Slellenbosch, Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Another of my sunbathers.

Someone asked where I keep them.

I rarely keep my own work, I was in business to make money, and mainly only kept stuff that was damaged in the kiln.

I liked this bloke. We still have the Miners union hotel on the seafront, and this figure goes back to when they dressed like this on holiday.

The staff in orange polo shirts wheel the residents into the mild October sun after Typhoon 21 (Lan) has left and dried up most of the rain. Some require wheelchair and others can safely make their way by using a walker frame to steady their progress. The Ministry of Health and Welfare continues to remind all national and local officials that the population pyramid is widening at the top and narrowing at the base, creating a columnar demographic shape. That means now fewer workers are paying into the system created to care for the elderly.

National pensions are meager, so recently the government has followed the example of other countries to incentivize personal saving by use of (conservative) stockmarket investment; for example, allowing the money taken from the worker's paycheck pre-tax to be paid in to the investment and grow untaxed. That means the initial money avoided payroll tax and the gain (or loss) over the years of investment also is not taxed. However, the majority of investment accounts offered by the big players in the financial services industry are not friendly, since they take annual service fees that reduce the efficiency of the national program. And the annual contribution limits are relatively small for the time being, at least.

On the eaves of our house this afternoon. Quite surprised when it came past around four o'clock. Had time to finish my very late lunch and come in for the camera and it was still there. I think its a pipistrelle bat?

Day 137 of 365 : Jan. 14, 2010

Cute brunette sunbathing

A fox sunbathing in the garden. Didn't seem very bothered about the dog barking at it in full view. Just moved off when I got too close.

sunbathing tiny turtle-best seen large..

Meet my little friend Myrtle. Well, I'm not sure of what it's name is, but I do hope it used the appropriate sunscreen before it decided to sunbathe.

Koh Pangan Thailand

Captured this frog sunbathing in the marsh land at West Beach. It was a cool morning, it was probly trying to keep warm.

As I walked round Roath park lake on a sunny evening, I spotted the man in a van sunbathing in the parked vehicle. Strange I thought.

Beagle.

The Beagle is a breed of small to medium-sized dog. A member of the Hound Group, it is similar in appearance to the Foxhound, but smaller with shorter legs and longer, softer ears. Beagles are scent hounds, developed primarily for tracking hare, rabbit, and other small game. They have a great sense of smell and tracking instinct that sees them employed as detection dogs for prohibited agricultural imports and foodstuffs in quarantine around the world. Beagles are intelligent, and popular pets because of their size, even temper, and lack of inherited health problems.

Although beagle-type dogs have existed for over 2,000 years, the modern breed was developed in Great Britain around the 1830s from several breeds, including the Talbot Hound, the North Country Beagle, the Southern Hound, and possibly the Harrier.

Beagles have been depicted in popular culture since Elizabethan times in literature and paintings, and more recently in film, television and comic books. Snoopy of the comic strip Peanuts has been promoted as "the world's most famous beagle"
