Summertime Blues
Well, I'm a gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a holler
About workin' all summer just to try an' earn a dollar
Everytime I call my baby, to try to get a date
My boss says, no dice, son, you gotta work late
Sometimes I wonder what I'm gonna do
'Cause there ain't no cure for the summertime blues
Well, my mom an papa told me, son, you gotta make some money
If you want to use the car to go ridin' next sunday
Well I didn't go to work, told the boss I was sick
Now you can't use the car 'cause you didn't work a lick
Sometimes I wonder what I'm gonna do
'Cause there ain't no cure for the summertime blues
Ow.

What would summer be without Hollyhocks!!
Wheaton, IL
Tucked away somewhere on the western seaboard, there lies this small, quaint and colourful slice of paradise. Imagine starting your day, to the sound of the birds chirping, the swaying of the leaves, the warmth from the bright sun in the blue sky, and the smell of fresh coffee and croissants filled with jelly. Look no further than this vibrant terrace filled with all those aspects and more. There are even some flamingos finishing the canals below.
Finished this build some time ago and never got around to posting it. Also brought it out to PKH this weekend in Norway. Thank you to my friend Mansur for editing the photo for me in England. Hope you enjoy this non Star Warsy creation! :D
her smile cracked motel blinds sigh
like heat-blistered paint cherry gloss fading
in the silence after laughter too loud for her age
footsteps echo in flip-flops popsicle drip on wrists
a summer song skips and repeats love? no-longing in disguise

still as the sun stares
burning through motel glass
he said "angel"-meant "property"
she twirled, but not for him
the sky held its breath

lipstick smeared on rearview mirrors fine strands wilt in heat
shadows longer than her shadow candy wrappers, motel key
he calls her name like prayer sun-streaked radio silence
July swallowed whole at 14 the past smells like chlorine

Last summer, I attempted to use my GO camera more than anything. So, tiger lilies and spooky sad mask!
I was glad to already have this in the files to work up for today because it's just "too dad-gum hot" to go out and find a new one.

Summertime, and the livin' is easy
One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing
And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky

And what a hell of a summer 2024's proved to be, didn't it? Hmm.
Here, I am sheltering from the rain as Class 66 locomotive No. 66070 approaches Kidderminster station with 6V05, the 09:15 Round Oak to Margam working on Tuesday 16th July 2024.
When I thought up this title I didn't know there was a piece of music with the same name. Summertime in England was recorded by Van Morrison and appeared on his 1980 album entitled Common One.
