As with most sites, it seems, Daneway Banks in Gloucestershire has produced low numbers of butterflies this year, including their speciality the Large Blue (Phengaris arion). So although I was disappointed to not see a pristine example, I was delighted to image something. Plenty of visitors were seeing none.
Speaking of frustrations, this butterfly had a seed or something stuck on its probosis which it couldn't coil up out of the way. It spent quite a lot of time trying to dislodge it with its legs but eventually flew off still encumbered.
This photo shows a typical Australian house with Santa falling off the verandah roof. summer Christmas means we all indulge with northern hemisphere roasts and plum pudding but add or substitute salads, berries and summer fruits! I liked the Ornamental windmill and gardens too

ARNARSTAPI is a village in the southern part of the Snaefellsnes peninsula, Iceland.
The beach holds a particular attraction and its cliffs are absolutely amazing. The interplay of waves and the light of the sun creates a fascinating spectacle.
Large colonies of the arctic tern also nest in the area.
