From September 15th to 19th the second of the four JCOM Masterclasses, educational programmes aimed at an international audience and held by international experts takes place. For the 20 selected participants this interactive course represents a unique opportunity to discuss the state-of-the-art of science exhibition development with particular focus on the possible different design approaches, helping participants to reflect on the relationship between the different media, contents and visitors' experience.

Despite a very rainy day on Saturday, September 12, 2015 over 90 volunteers braved the weather to remove over 191 bags of trash and 500 pounds of metal from the historic Bread and Cheese Creek! 4 bicycles, a leather sofa, leather chair, a sing, a chain link fence, a charcoal grill, two shopping cards, an entertainment stand, two pallets, three tires, a gas pump handle labeled “Leaded Fuel Only were also removed! The majority of the trash consisted of fast food trash, plastic bottle and cans.
Our cleanup was ran in association with ran in association with National Day to Serve and the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup as well as American Rivers.
We would like to thank all our incredible volunteer form the community, Towson University, the Cub Scouts and the U. S. Airforce who helped to make out cleanup so successful! We would also like to thank Gotugo for donating a portable restroom for the event! Thank you everyone for all your hard work and for helping us strive for a cleaner, greener, healthier community and environment!
Out next Cleanup is October 3rd as we cleanup the Peninsula Expressway. We hope to see you there!

Successful casting! First few slices were poured yesterday, dried overnight, and cast today. The bottom shaped ridge is nearly perfect from the casting, except for one totally avoidable slip with the foam leak stops. I like the shape as is, but want to make more sections with the other modular foam core panels.

When I turned 12 and went on my first hunting trip, the excitement was unbearbale! The let down I felt after not even seeing a deer, was even worse! Unfortunately it never got better through the years,and even into adulthood! I never learned the true meaning of a successful outing, until after I gave up hunting. My rifle sat around getting dusty, until I sold it years later, and used the money towards a camera. My knee surgeries kept me clamed up inside the house, and I was just dieing to get out for fresh air. When I did get out on my first outing ( on crutches ), I was just happy to see Mother Nature in all her glory....just being out on a trail experiencing all those sights, sounds, and smells was rewarding for me!...
..."Damn it...that was it!" That was the success I was after, and was just to dumb to figure it out!
Ever since I started photography, I've longed for pictures of a Red Fox! Ask my buddy Aaron (Snidro)! This morning I sat along the edge of a cut Sorghum field on a farm of a good friend of mine. I saw a Fox early, but it was way to dark for any shots...so I sat...and sat...and sat a little longer...just taking it all in! My butt was sore, so it was time to leave and these beautiful, and crafty hunters never showed back up. "Before I stand up and walk back to the truck I better kiss the air...just in case?" As soon as I did a long series of smack calls with my lips, out from my left 30 yards away was this beauty, heading for the corn! Another call stopped it on a dime, and it was on a b-line right towards me! Of course its path was directly at the only tall pieces of grass between me and it! I snapped off pictures in some miserable cloudy conditions, until it got close enough to figure out I wasn't on the breakfast menu ( I'm in full camo and face mask! ), and quietly snuck off to the fence row behind me. "Success!!!" I'm not very happy with the pictures...but I will most assuredly take them, and enjoy them too! I can't wait to get back out there and experience that feeling again...maybe next time getting that amazing portrait of the Red Fox I've been after for so long? If not...oh well...I have the video of the entire event in my mind forever! I had a very successful outing!

The Festival d'Avignon was founded by Jean Vilar in 1947.
Jean Vilar was invited to present his first great successful play - Murder in the Cathedral by T.S. Eliot in the Popes Palace. At the same moment and at the same place, an exhibition of contemporary paintings and sculptures was organised by Christian Zervos, an art critic and collector, and by René Char, the poet.
Vilar initially refused the invitation as for him the Cour d'Honneur of the Popes Palace was too vast and "shapeless" and he also lost the performance rights of the play.
However, he proposed three creations : Shakespeare's Richard II, one of the Bard's plays that was little known at the time in France; Paul Claudel's Tobie et Sara (Tobie and Sara), and Maurice Clavel's second play, La Terrasse de Midi (The Midday Terrace). The very first Festival d'Avignon in September 1947 set the scene as a showcase for unknown work and modern scripts.

this was the 3rd house and 1st success, the first two he ran into the house, this door was answered by a teenager on crutches, so maybe the crutches scared him....but at least from here on out we kept him on the doorstep! I think he is so cute here moving as fast as he can to come tell me he trick or treated, and granted we were out early, so he got more excited as the other kids were out in costume too.....my pirate, well our pirate, he is a sleep pirate he steals all of our sleep! he was quite happy in the rain too and he stayed warm!

Capitalism is arguably the most successful system humans have yet devised for raising general prosperity. Yet knowing that capitalism works is not the same as understanding how it works. Traditionally, economics defines capitalism as a system that uses markets and price signals to efficiently allocate resources. Yet many of the basic assumptions of this view are under challenge. Likewise, the version of capitalism that many countries have created has also proven to be subject to financial crises, rising inequality, and environmental damage. These issues have raised fundamental assumptions about the nature of economic growth and a quest for new models of inclusive, sustainable prosperity. Eric Beinhocker of INET Oxford will discuss an emerging view that the economy is not the mechanistic system of traditional economics but instead is a complex adaptive system. Under this view capitalism is not primarily characterised as a system for resource allocation, but rather is an evolutionary system for devising solutions to human problems. This view sheds light on current debates regarding inclusive, sustainable growth, and has potentially important implications for policy and politics.

Saw several successful hunts for minnows by these pied billed grebes at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden. Almost every dive they would come up with a little minnow, caught a shot of one that got a pretty big one but it was a bit further away! I keep stalking this green heron every time I go there. I have been able to find him multiple times but never in a position for a good shot.
