Cambio de escenario. Ahora un parque, un gran parque. Como si se tratara de una reserva natural. El césped que se encontraba bajo nuestros cuerpos señalizado con un "Se ruega no pisar el césped" ¿Acaso alguien se ha percatado de esos carteles? O mejor dicho, ¿Alguien les hace caso?
- Mira, ¿ves ese árbol de ahí? - Me dijo señalándo un gran árbol al fondo.
- Sí, ¿qué pasa con él? - Quise saber.
- Pues ese árbol me encanta. Este es mi sitio favorito. Cuando era pequeño siempre venía aquí... - Contestó.
- ¿Sí? Pues está lleno de iniciales y promesas de amor de muchas personas. - Respondí.
- Ya, por eso. - Me dijo mientras sonreía.
Poco a poco nos vamos encontrando más solos. Nosotros y la naturaleza. La brisa de una tarde de casi verano, el piar de los pájaros a modo de música, la risa de los niños a lo lejos. Un gran árbol a nuestro lado. Se acercó a él, llave en mano y poco a poco consiguió formar nuestra iniciales y dejarlas grabadas en la madera. Relevo. Me toca a mí. Con más dificultad logro escribir: "Tú y yo a tres metros sobre el cielo", como en ese libro, grabado en un sitio público en el que muchos ojos pueden observar eso. Esa frase tan llena de significado.
Se nota que cada vez más confianza entre nosotros. Se nota que somos capaces de leer los pensamientos del otro. De saber que diremos con solo mirarnos. Ya no hace faltan las palabras para poder expresarnos, para poder hablar. Mirarte y mirarme, eso es suficiente.
- Eres perfecta. - dijo.
- No lo soy. - Respondí.
- Sí, eres perfecta para mí. - Prosiguió. - Eres lo que siempre he buscado en una chica.
- ¿Y qué buscas en una chica? - Curioseé.
- Pues que me quiera, que me valore, que comparta intereses conmigo... - Comentó.
- ¿Qué cosas tenemos en común? - Pregunté.
- Nos gusta la fotografía, nos gusta la misma música... - Explicó.
- Sí, tienes razón. Bueno, ¿qué más buscas? - Seguí curioseando.
- Que sea mayor que yo, para tener una madurez a la par, estoy harto de niñatas, pero sobretodo, que tenga personalidad. Me encanta tu carácter... - Se sinceró.
Besos, abrazos, caricias y, poco a poco, nos fuimos abandonando. Ya no había nada más, ya no existía nada más. Las horas iban pasando a grandes zancadas. Las horas se convertían en segundos. Hasta que el sol comenzó a esconderse entre las montañas para desaparecer un poco después por entre el mar, entonces lo entendimos: debíamos marcharnos.
Y tras una gran tarde ahí, en ese maravilloso lugar. Nos despedimos de él, dejándolo atrás. Con nuestras iniciales marcadas en ese árbol, junto con esa frase que tanto significa...

Map of the 16th century walled city. These walls were pulled down following the Siege of La Rochelle and the city's ultimate surrender. Only 5,000 inhabitants survived to surrender. Nearly 20,000 had starved to death during the two year siege. The armies of the French King, Louis XIII, under the command of Cardinal Richleau, totally blocked all relief, going so far as to drain the harbor and divert the tidal flow away from what was a major port city.
After its defeat in 1628, La Rochelle was stripped of its corporate charter and independent status. One of France's most important sea ports was reduced to little more than a fishing village. For the next one hundred years La Rochelle's most important exports were Huguenot refugees.
In 1720 the French crown was in need of trade generated capital. The Royal government relented by giving La Rochelle's merchants, many still subrosa Huguenots, exclusive rights to the trade in slaves. It was more than ironic that this freedom loving and independent thinking port where so many were martyred for their beliefs, saw its road to economic and political salvation via the slave trade. Financed with the weight of Huguenot banking interests from Geneva and Lausanne, La Rochelle's fortunes were rebuilt, but not to the levels it had known prior to its capitulation in 1628.
As part of its attempt to catch up with the rest of Europe, France also granted nominal religious freedom to the Huguenots in 1759, but the damage to the social fabric had already been too great to restore the integrity of the nation and the stability of the crown. The restoration of La Rochelle's autonomy, as with other French towns, was too little too late to avert the coming revolution.
France also was too late with its attempt to compete directly with Dutch, Spanish and English interests in the African slave trade. In another irony of history, France would unleash a global reaction against slavery and a direct challenge to the status quo of all existing governments when the cry of "Liberte, Fraternite and Equalite" went out from the streets of Paris in 1789.
Among the first to go were the French colonies in the Carribean, most notably in Santo Domingo or Haiti. The French jewel of the Carribean came crashing down with a bloody revolt in 1791 just as the Great Terror was gripping France.
Despite its absolute hatred for everything the French Revolution initiated, the British Parlaiment was a major player in this social change. In 1808 it enforced the international treaty barring the direct importation of African slaves, partly so as to deprive any allies with France of a source of revenue while the British were at war with Napoleon.
It was more than a coincidence that the British relaxed its laws against Irish Catholics at the same time. Reform was more an attempt to head off extremism than a legal appeal to enlightened minds. It was a political reality, not a cry for liberty, when the MP's passed the Great Reform Bill of 1836 freeing British slaves. This probably did more to head off British participation in the 1848 revolts that spread across Europe just over a decade later.
Eventually others followed the British example which was just as loudly called for by organized labor's attempt to end slavery as undermining wages for labors that were dependent on the whims of the free market. Even the Russian Tsar would free the serfs with a similar unilateral action by the 1860's.
It would be the United States, with the fortunes of many a Huguenot refugee still in existance, that would hold out the longest in support of retaining slave labor and for reopening the international slave trade. Only Spain and Portugal would stay the course longer, but not much longer than the official end of slavery in America which came in 1865.
In one of the massive towers guarding the seaward entrance to the harbor at La Rochelle, the little known story of that city's involvement in the slave trade is on display.
La Rochelle, the martyred city of Europe's religious wars, the defender of the innocent during the Second World War, the city were its walls and independence were wrecked as a warning to others, is a city which is deeply connected to both sides of age old arguments that still rage on. It is just like the rest of us.

Deep Listening Chair 2009, the 3rd edition of Tokyo's festival for Experimental Digital Music and related Visual Arts will take place under the theme Surrealistic Minimalism. Sound and other media from July 10 till July 11, 2009 at various venues in Tokyo.
Edition NIkO will address both theoretical and practical aspects of today’s independent and experimental music production at the intersections of digital music and sound & media arts. Artists, experts and theorists will present their work as a means to pool knowledge and sketch out the sector’s future prospects. Visitors can hone their personal skills in workshops designed to encourage and support DIY experimentation. Selected projects and initiatives will demonstrate what they do in a hybrid formats fusing exhibitions and work-in-progress sessions that engage visitors’ participation. Actions and installations will illustrate further examples of creative output wiring music, art and digital culture.
For the DLC.09 on July 11, legendary mille plateaux artist and one of the most respected reputations in avant-garde laptop music, and rightfully so, as he has established a highly notable presence in the multimedia experimentation of the late 20th and early 21st century. "Christophe Charles" will perform his live using his computer programs, insisting on the autonomy of each sound and the absence of hierarchical structure.
On a same day, most revered name in noise-electronic music today, Tetsuo Furudate will perform his noise-opera composition. Contributing to the development of the Japanese noise music in its early period with other pioneers, and apart from his numerous solo works as Furudate Tetsuo, Tetsuo has collaborated with Achim Wollscheid (selektion), Merzbow (mego), Zbigniew Karkowski (sub rosa), Kasper T. Toeplitz (NIkO) and more other noise musicians.
Perhaps one of the most prolific and ceaselessly inventive personalities to come out of the electronic music community since the 1990s, Yurihito Watanabe, the man behind yxetm+, has accumulated literally dozens of musical directions over the course of his illustrious career. Working with David Toop, Alva noto, CM von Hausswolff, Yurihito is increasingly attracted to pushing the barriers of his art form in new directions.
An ambient showcase featuring ENG/electronoise group (feat. Cal Lyall, Taishin Inoue, Kelly Churko, Blackphone666, Daisuke Kitabayashi) by Edition NIkO curator shotahirama, presenting projects that technologically alter the shape and sound of our relationship with industrial. And more artists coming up... Between Darren McClure, enormous O'clock, Moze (ex-Provoke), yuji kondo, a snore, and few more international acts, we’ve endeavored to represent every corner of the electronic arts in motion today.
Edition NIkOはSurrealistic Minimalismを掲げ、パリ、ベルリン、バルセロナ、ロンドン、ニューヨークそしてここ日本と、世界中の電子音響家を擁するネットレーベルである。コンピューターで生成されるマイクロスコピックな電子音を構成素とし、抽象的な音響空間を創出するため、個々のそのデジタルクリエーションの中に「常識を外れた奇妙で既存の状態を超越している状況」を提示するsurrealisticなartistが集まる。レーベルディレクターは、ダダやバウハウスなどの反社会主義性と合理主義的な思想をモデルに、スペインや ロンドンを中心にヨーロッパでのリリース／ライブ活動を続けるサウンドアーティスト、shotahirama (平間翔太)。ENG（electronoise group)、またJANDEATHの名義にてZbigniew KarkowskiやToshiji Mikawa (Incapacitants、非常階段)、Tetsuo Furudate、ASTRO (Hiroshi Hasegawa)、Pain Jerk、Justice Yehldamなど数多くのノイズアーティストとライブ活動を行う。そして２００７年に当レーベルを設立。
そのEdition NIkOのレーベルショーケースとなるDeep Listening Chairが今年も東京のLooplineにて7月11日に開催される。
ラインナップは以下の通りだ。今や東京を代表する美術家/音楽家であり、Mille Plateauxをはじめ数多くのレーベルから作品をリリースし、ICCや成田空港第一ターミナル中央アトリウムなどでのサウンドインスタレーション、また、OVAL (Mille Plateaux)、渋谷慶一郎 (ATAK)、半野善弘 (PROGRESSIVE FOrM)らとのコラボレーションも記憶に新しい、メディアアートを専門に活動を続けるフランス人電子音響家、christophe charlesがヘッドライナーとしてDeep Listening Chairに初登場。
またMerzbowと共に８０年代からノイズミュージシャンとして活動を続け、Sub rosaやStaalplaatなどEdition NIkOも強く影響を受けた名門レーベルから幾つもの作品をリリースし、近年はシェークスピア、エドガー・アラン・ポー、ゲオルグ・ピュヒナー等の作品をベースにしたノイズ音楽劇作品を手がける、今や世界を代表するジャパノイズアーティスト、Tetsuo Furudateも参加が決定。
さらにはレーベルオーナーであるshotahiramaが最も影響の受けた画家、菅野まり子や、David Toop (Samadhisound)、Carsten Nicolai (Raster-noton)、C M Von Hausswolff (Laton)など新進気鋭の音楽家達との共作、共演でも知られておりサウンドアートの世界で活躍するYurihito Watanabeも初登場。今回は世界15カ国以上の映画祭、美術館等で上映され世界でも高い評価を受けている映像作家の狩野 志歩とともに、Feinfügig… unüberholbar… 「しなやかに、追いこすこともかなわぬまま」を上演。
そしてもちろん、Edition NIkOのオリジナルアーティスト達もこの日の為に日本中から集結。２００７年のレーベル創設時からのメンバーであり、毎年このフェスティバルに出演をしている北アイルランド出身、現在は長野に在住のLaptopアーティスト、Darren McClure。更に、モダンエレクトロニックミュージックをジャズやテクノ、ヒップホップなど独自のリズムサイエンスで稀有なサウンドとアンビエンスを生み出すことに成功した名盤、INFORMATION WARFARE (AI Records)が記憶に新しい京都在住の電子音楽家、enormous O’clockも登場。また、２００８年にはヘッドライナーも務めた大阪在住の２人組ProvokeからはMoze、これまでに現音作曲新人賞など数々の受賞経歴を持ち、彼が最も影響を受けてきたであろう、クラシックや映画音楽などの断片をコラージュしていく手法で、映像的なエレクトロニカを提示する。同じ大阪からは、今や関西地区で最も影響力のある若手Laptopアーティストと称されるまでになったYuji KondoもEdition NIkOのオリジナルメンバーであり、去年、そして今年京都で行われたDeep Listening Kyotoに続き３度目の出演となる。さらには京都在住の５人組、a snoreは今年初登場となり、今後が最も期待される京都音響の新世代を代表する存在であろう。
最後にEdition NIkOそして今回のDeep Listening Chairのキューレーターであるshotahiramaは古くからの名義であるENG (electronoise group)で出演する。今回は、現代即興のシーンで最も今注目されるアーティストであり、六本木Super Deluxにて行われるイベントtest toneの主宰者でもあるCal Lyallが参加。これまでにTetuzi Akiyama, Chie Mukai, Samm Bennett, Yoshio Otani, Yoshio Machida, Damo Suzuki等と共演している。さらには、Sound Folliesを主宰しこれまでにGovernment Alpha, Astro, Zbigniew Karkowski, Bastard Noise等多くのノイジシャンと共演し、東京の即興シーンと並び今最も革新的な動きが続くジャパノイズシーンで知らない者はいないKelly Churkoも参加。また、東京の電子音響シーンを牽引するイベントとして多くの若手アーティストを輩出してきたORASPを主宰する、電子音響家Taishin Inoueもこの集団即興に参戦。最後に、古くから続く伝統を継承し新しい方向へと導いていく、ハードコアシーンの新潮流となり絶大な支持を得ている、黒電話ことBlackphone666も参加する。ハーシュやテクノイズ等のパワーエレクトロニクスなアーティストをオーガナイズするDPGレーベルを主宰しており、今回はこのENGにてどんな即興を披露してくれるのか。と、今回のENG/electronoise groupには即興、ノイズ、音響、そしてさらにはハードコアのシーンと。各メディアのオーガナイザーが集合し、全員での即興演奏を披露する。

Born in Tokyo. Started his career in experimental firm and video art in 1981.From middle of 80's,he gradually turned into music through performing art,contributing to the development of the Japanese noise music in its early period with other pioneers such as Merzbow. He spreads his activities over Europe since 1998,with many concerts not only CD releases,corroborating with Zbigniew Karkowski,Kasper T. Toeplitz and Leif Elggren. He achieved the premier show of his newest experimental noise opera,"Othello",at Podwil in Berlin in 2001.He stayed in Berlin as a artist residence of Podewil in 2003. During them he had premieres of "Wozzeck" at Podewil in Berlin and "Auditory Sence of Mr.Roderick Usher" at Dresdner Zentrums für zeditgenössische Musik (DZzM) in Dresden. "Auditory Senced...."won the BLAUE BRÜCKE prize 2003. “Motome-Zuka” radio version won second prize of The Internationales Festivals für Hörkunst 2007 by Akademie der Hünste of Berlin. Chihei Hatakeyama

chihei Hatakeyama was born in 1978, and lives in the outskirts of Tokyo. He has performed for years under his given name and also as one half of the electroacoustic duo Opitope, along with Tomoyoshi Date. Hatakeyama got involved in playing music through strumming a guitar in a few rock-oriented bands in his teenage years. Subsequently a laptop computer superseded his bands as his main platform. Hatakeyama polychromes memory-evoking soundscapes with various recorded materials of acoustic instruments such as guitars, vibraphone, and piano; mostly played by hand and processed time and time again via laptop. His first album Minima Moralia was commissioned for release by the Chicago-based label kranky in early 2006. Opitope actively organizes a continuous live performance event named Kuala Mute Geek in Tokyo (Kuala means "a crossing point of streams" in Malay). The event is powered by hand-made vacuum tube amplifiers and speakers in up to eight channel settings. Electroacoustic and improvisational artists such as Taylor Duepree, Christopher Willits, Toshimaru Nakamura, Christophe Charles, Hans Reichel, Uchihashi Kazuhisa, Tamaru, Carl Stone, Keiichi Sugimoto, Tetsuro Yasunaga, Boris D Hegenbart, Yoshio Machida and many more have performed. Kuala Mute Geek creates possibilities for interaction and dialogue among the artists and listeners. Hatakeyama collaborated with Tomoyoshi Date on a track on the compilation Small Melodies from Spekk in 2005. He also organizes the improvisation band Copa del Papa with a rotating lineup. Hatakeyama and Date launched a label Kualauk Table to release compilations of their selected sessions with guest artists like Christophe Charles, Tamaru, Tagomago, Asuna, Askococo and others in late 2005.
Darren McClure
Results from a combination of digital sounds generated from software and field recordings. Often the field recordings are processed, but other times are left untreated. The sounds I look to create tend to be textural and warm, laying down drones and atmospheres on top of which fragmented melodies appear and disappear in the mix. Collaborated with various people including Allan Hughes (Belfast sound/video artist), Lezrod (Colombian sound artist), Takahiro Kawaguchi (sound/performance artist and field-recordist) and Hiroyuki Ura (sound artist and co-runner of Two-lines label in Tokyo). Released music on net/CD-R labels including Oblast, Test-tube, Factotum Arts, Cherry Music, 2063music, Standard-klik-music, zymogen, Rain Music and Peppermill.

Radical free/spontaneous music/art ensemble, The Electronoise Group (ENG) founded in early 2006 by Japanese-American soundArtist, shotahirama. It is a group that are making concrete drone sounds with their free-improv expression and the ideas from "laptop" "noise" and "Art".
Using laptop, tape-operation, and tape-loop, generated guitar, the project ideal is to express the content of various psycho pathological conditions, especially depressive psychosis, and paranoia. And also making an art design, a photomontage with strong attention to Dada and Bauhaus.
shotahirama is a Japanese-American concrete sound artist and also known as a photomontage artist, inspired by Dada and Bauhaus. Most people also know him under the name ENG (electronoise group) or JANDEATH. He uses laptop and sinewave generator, some tape-operation and tape-loops, or some kind of machine, making concrete-noise-drone or a power electronics.
He has been documented on a number of projects, each revealing new facets of his wide-ranging and unique talents on both laptop and tape-operation. He has recorded and performed with Zbigniew Karkowski (mego/subrosa), Toshiji Mikawa (ex-incapacitants, Hijokaidan), ASTRO (Ant-Zen), Adachi Tomomi (Tzadik), Kelly Churko (Canada), Justice Yeldham (Australia) and more...

Taishin Inoue
Is a Japanese sound artist, and he was born in Tokyo on September 21, 1981. He lived in the suburbs in Osaka from 3 years old to 19 years old. Now, he is making an electronic music, movie, drawing, magazine, living in the music studio in koenji Tokyo. And he also organize an electronic music event, "ORASP". It is a coined word which connects the initial of “Organic-Reaction Around Spiral-Process”. Orasp includes the image which organic energy circulates through the inner side and outside of the image space produced from the sequence distribution which whirls spirally. ORASP mainly focus on electronica, IDM, ambient, noise, drone, breakcore, minimal techno, abstract hiphop, sonic dub, contemporary music, an acoustic sound, improvised music, experimental jazz, original musical instrument, band, and DJ perform.

Daisuke Kitabayashi is a founder of the japanese improvising emsemble Faltering Performance Band (FPB), established in 2008. Already in the late 1990´s Daisuke started experimenting with preparations on the guitar, influenced by the ideas of Keith Rowe. In the beginning of the 2007´s he has been a member of shotahirama's ENG/electronoise group. Since then Daisuke is exclusively playing the "table top guitar" - as a soloist, in FPB and in various other groups.
Yuji Kondo
Yuji Kondo is a sound artist and composer from Japan.In late 2005, he started his solo project, and currently based in the Kansai region. He makes compositions using computer programs, and restructure the sounds such as snow noise, sine wave, stylus tip noise, tape hiss, impulse click, field recording sources, acoustic percussion instruments, random tuning electric bass guitar tones, and voices in unconventional ways. Generated materials are fed back by the matrix-switch system on DAW software. The grand feedback soundscape woven by frequency operation is as beautiful as the fog, subtle and profound. His sound is a unique blend of electronic sounds and acoustic instruments, and the minimal and the complexities coexist there. the electronics function just as any other instruments.

For anyone who thinks I'm not shooting a lot anymore it is actually the complete opposite. I've been so productive over the past few months and am only going to start getting more busy hopefully.
About a month ago I went on the Haro Bikes road trip up to San Francisco. The rain prevented us from riding other than a couple indoor parks for the most part but I still had a great time with Dennis Enarson, Allan Cooke, Ryan Nyquist, Seth Klinger, Ronnie Napolitan, and Marcus Tooker. Good times for sure.
I've been doing a lot of shooting down in San Diego with basically everyone that lives down there and stayed down at Enarson's house to shoot with some dudes last weekend.
Hopefully I'm going up to LA this weekend to shoot some stuff with the Subrosa crew while they are filming the rest of GUTI as well. Brad Simms and David Grant are staying at my house a couple days to shoot as well.
What I'm trying to say is, SHOOTING HAS TAKEN OVER MY LIFE, and I'm loving it right now. I just haven't thought of posting much on here but I will when I get a chance and have photos I'm into that aren't getting used for anything.

Как обычно тут было много внезапных открытий, плюс человек 7-8 только из СПб, которых я знал, попадались люди из Украины и Москвы. Оценки, приоритеты и уровень #упрт в разные моменты у всех сильно отличались, поэтому то что написано ниже понравилось именно мне, в те самые неуловимые моменты.
Первый день запомнился напрочь забойным сэтом sludge/stoner/reverb шведов Suma, они же и стали первым открытием.
Смело рекомендую заценить при случае лайвы Deafheaven и Wolves In The Throne Room, которые как будто перешли в другое измерение, резко прибавив за последние годы, помню пару лет назад на барселонской Примавере Deafheaven представляли как хипстеров от black metal — теперь это атмосферный post-blackgaze (собственно WITTR можно совсем скоро увидеть в СПб).
Другим открытием стали калифорнийцы Alaric, post-punk с doom налётом — зацените их прошлогодний альбом End of Mirrors.
Наконец понравился dark martial neofolk от Rome (Jérôme Reuter) из Люксембурга — он впервые выступил на Rb, хотя после шквала bm переключаться на подобную музыку было непросто.
Далее на фест приземлилась оккультная Esther "Jinx" Dawson, со своими адептами из Coven, впервые прибывшими в Европу, разумеется она вышла на сцену из настоящего гроба, после чего устроила «satanic black mass», как говорится — witchcraft destroys minds & reaps souls — их фанатами в своё время с одной стороны был King Diamond, с другой Charles Manson, плюс в Британии появился ответ в лице Black Sabbath, мало того, гитариста Coven зовут Оз Озборн (дада), помимо этого можно отметить вокальное сходство Jinx с Grace Slick из The Great Society / Jefferson Airplane.
Посмотрел наконец SubRosa (аж два раза) — psychedelic stoner doom with neoclassical undertones — We are attempting to be the sonic interpreters of that which is intangible, люблю их.
После чего начался acid/psychedelic фильм, озвученный коллективом Bongzilla, и всё это уже начало напоминать Apocalypse Now — эти ребята выехали на теме войн полисбастардс с плантациями растений в штатах в 1948-1963, сейчас-то дело идёт к декриминализации всей этой темы — т.е. чуваки не зря рубились все эти годы, причём выжили, что удивительнее всего.
Лучшими в этот день стали долгожданные darkwave/post-punk британцы Esben & The Witch, которые давно мне нравятся, но я их ни разу не видел — mission complete!

Roadburn 2017 @ Day 2 (21/04).

Главное открытие D2 — Auðn (!) из Исландии, проехавшие катком post-black metal по ушам благодарных слушателей, для них разумеется выделили самый маленький подвал, в смысле бар (как все мы любим — поэтому туда пришлось прийти очень сильно заранее). После концерта друзья сфотографировались с ними, те слегка удивились узнав что мы из России, ударник спросил из какого города, оказалось ему даже знакомо название St. Petersburg. В этот же день был ещё один десант из Исландии, в лице Naðra / Zhrine — остаётся только констатировать, что в этой удивительной стране ледников и пепла кипит как лава сверхмощная post-bm сцена.
Тем временем на главное сцене — ethereal gothic дива Chelsea Wolfe со своим doom folk'ом, а ведь ещё пару лет назад она тоже пела в небольших залах (впервые она мне попалась на фесте Roadburn 2011, практически сразу после своего Apokalypsis, потом у нас в Прибое на SKIF XVII в 2013), и вот уже легко собирает main stage с огромной толпой — выросла на наших глазах практически, после Rb я её посмотрел ещё раз, на финском фесте Sideways, мало того, в сентябре выходит новый альбом, его она и играет.
Subrosa выступали второй раз с acoustic/drone программой — они хороши в любом виде.
Психоделический stoner / shoegaze в исполнении True Widow уже завозили на Rb в 2014, и тогда мы даже сфотографировались с Nicole Estill, они кстати и в Москве засветились, плюс только что выпустили новый альбом, став одной из причин поездки!
Потом настало время Church of Ra — сначала был post-black привет из Гента, от авангардистов из Oathbreaker (кстати у них вышел новый альбом, и они успели побывать в СПб, кто ходил тот не я, увы), собственно и Amenra неоднократно играли на Rb (и в СПб, например в Арктике, в 16.05.2012), в прошлом году аж дважды, тогда мне запомнился полуакустический slowcore/ambient сет по мотивам релиза Afterlife — когда они шаманили сидя в кругу спиной к залу, в этом году был атмосферный sludge metal с примесями, как всегда у них.
Magma — олдскульный progressive психодел из Франции, они играли свой главный альбом «Mekanïk Destruktive Kommandöh», 1973, который в основном никто не слышал, лол, так что было очень интересно посмотреть, да и небольшой reset после шквала sludge/black не помешал.
Запомнились британские Telepathy, в баре Cul De Sac — неплохой progressive/sludge post-metal, в марте 2017 у них был альбом Tempest, но вживую это всё звучит конечно лучше.
К сожалению пропустил King Woman с Kristina Esfandiari, бывшей вокалисткой shoegaze группы Whirr! Безудержно забойного Perturbator'а все мы видели и не раз, например в заведении MOD — show must go on!

Сразу два открытия — бельгийский psychedelic drone/doom от Wolvennest (WLVNNST) и совершенно тоталитарное шоу норвегов Mysticum, которые рубились возвышаясь в дыму на огромных постаментах, освещая офигевших зрителей main stage прожекторами, видимо времён войны, заливая всем в уши industrial black metal варево — в плане шоу именно их лайв был наиболее эффектен!
Что касается Oranssi Pazuzu, то буквально на наших глазах, за эти 7 Roadburn-фестов, на которые мы уже скатались, они стали олицетворением post-black metal сцены и не только финской, причём их уникальный уклон в psychedelic/art сносит крышу не только адептам — в этом году их позвали даже на Flow!
И снова исландцы — Misþyrming, которые ошарашили всех в прошлом году своим представлением, теперь их даже не объявляли заранее — получился неожиданный сюрприз, спасибо Walter!
Французы Aluk Todolo тут уже играли — люблю их психоделический kraut/post-black.
Застал финиш drone/ambient проекта Dylan Carlson из Earth и The Bug (electronic music wizard Kevin Martin), хотя у них там телеги минут по 20, так что ок.
Вашингтонских пост-рокеров из Trans Am увидеть здесь я ожидал меньше всего, хотя это был классный привет из 90х, осталось ещё позвать на Rb Tortoise и Labradford с Windy & Carl.
Ahab — любопытный немецкий funeral doom.
Напрочь зверский crust/d-beat лайв получился у шведов Disfear — раз в жизни стоит побывать и на таком концерте.
Memoriam — британский old-school death metal, по касательной.
Наконец снова вспомнил, что я с детства за My Dying Bride (никогда не забуду эти кассеты, хаха), но первый раз я увидел их в Авроре, в 2011, когда они заехали в СПб — ностальгический улёт!
Жаль пропустил калифорнийский post-ebm/industrial revival Youth Code, хотя я видел их в The Place, СПб в 2016, когда пришло 40 человек, группа-то хорошая.

Roadburn 2017 @ Day 4 (23/04).

Открытием внезапно стали местные молодые ребята — космические psychedelic/stoner голландцы RMFTM, из соседнего городка Sint-Oedenrode, что рядом с Эйндховеном. Понравились dark folk чуваки из Jaye Jayle своими kraut запилами.
Внезапно на фест вписали нетипичный avant-garde/noise rock проект Oxbow с блюзовым налётом — для разрядки OK.
Лучшими, как мне кажется, стали Ulver, сыгравшие новый альбом под концептуальный видеоряд, хотя эта группа уже давно из другой Вселенной.
Inter Arma я тут уже однажды видел — этот progressive sludge хорошо запоминается, они отыграли свой классный прошлогодний альбом и скоро будут в СПб.
Потом успел на Pillorian, новый проект основателя распавшихся Agalloch (John Haughm) — у них только что вышел новый альбом, его и представили.
Les Discrets французский folk/post-metal/shoegaze уже видел и не раз, они знамениты в помимо всего благодаря их основателю по имени Fursy Teyssier (songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist), который заодно рисует гениальные обложки для альбомов.
По касательной подвернулись The Doomsday Kingdom — типичный шведский дум (они даже дум делают мелодичным) и Valborg — немецкий progressive doom/death, тоже ничего.
Далее был красивый мистический drone folk от Emma Ruth Rundle — swallowed by darkness, гитаристка Red Sparowes/вокалистка Marriages. Жаль она заболела и остановила свой тур, из-за чего так и не заехала в СПб, кстати её ранние записи, типа Electric Guitar, очень сильно отличаются в сторону drone от того что сейчас (и мне как раз нравится).
На финише всех прибил убил posthardcore/sludge от Come To Grief. В Бостоне 90-х была crust punk группа Grief, чей дебютный альбом назывался Come to Grief (1994) — собственно эти же чуваки и переименовали свою же группу.
И после всего этого ада, уже совсем ночью, в локальной шаверме встретили Subrosa в полном составе — бесценный опыт!
