When I first bought the LUMIX G VARIO 14-42/F3.5-5.6 II lens, I was disappointed because I didn't know it did not have OIS (which is why I haven't been using it often). But, with the in-body OIS of the GX8, the 14mm has been saved from the "banish to fleaBay" list. It's a very sharp and fast lens, and is now the ideal GX8 companion for my nocturnal sub rosa photo safaris. :)

"Like the whippoorwill,
I didn’t listen to the warning she gave…
And one day I’ll be like a bird in flight,
Floating over this desert so wide."

Painted in the 1980s by artist Chris "Freedom" Pape, in the then abandoned railroad tunnel beneath Riverside Park, on the upper west side of Manhattan. I first spotted it from the window of an Amtrak train, after they'd started using the tunnel to get Empire Corridor trains into and out of Pennsylvania Station in midtown. About a week or so later, in December 1991, I'd figured out about where the painting was, and how I could photograph it from outside a ventilation grate. The light was very poor, and I was definitely pushing the limits of the roll of Fujichrome 100 I had loaded in my camera, but there it was! Unfortunately, you can only see the top of Mona's head, thanks to later graffiti covering it.
For more information about this and Chris Pape's other work in the tunnel, here's the Wikipedia entry about it:

Completely love this shot! My friend David did a nice 360 across a gap and in exactly the right spot too!
Flickr sharpening doesn't do this any favors...so view large for best effect.
Yes, I've been neglecting to upload the musicians again. So here comes the usual bombardment of musician photos.
I reactivated my shaeffer targa slim fountain pen and bought a little converter for it, because there are no cartridges available.
Right page: We discovered a frog prince, sitting on a stone on the waterfront of the baltic sea. There is a footpath and you can see it from there. What a cute idea to install a guerrilla frog prince. All promenaders stopped and had a smile in their face.
We've been out for a meal. While eating we talked about this and that; immediately Robert asked me, if he would be allowed to ask a personal question. I wondered what would happen now... we know each other for approx. 10 years, and I didn't know if I should laugh loud or if I expected a horror question. I said "Yes, of course", and he asked: "Do you think that I trimmed my beard too short?" After that question I decided to laugh. Very loud.

Lahsaan just got bumped up to Subrosa Pro and I'm super stoked for him. This was a photo I shot that they used for the cover of his Pro edit which you can watch here:

I bummed that I did get the roll out as much as I wanted but it was super hard to fill the frame with the entire sequence while not being to far away as well as lighting it up properly.

I went down to San Diego to shoot some stuff for Osiris shoes with Miles Rogoish yesterday but a popped out shoulder ended our session early at a rail spot down in National City. We ended up meeting up with the entire San Diego crew closer to downtown which included Hoang Tran, Gary Young, Kyle Hart, Lahsaan Kobza, and tons more. I only rode with them for about an hour before leaving to meet up with Chad Kerley to shoot some photos for the Premium Catalog but I was able to snap this photo before I left.
Just like the colors on this one really, nothing special.
For anyone who thinks I'm not shooting a lot anymore it is actually the complete opposite. I've been so productive over the past few months and am only going to start getting more busy hopefully.
About a month ago I went on the Haro Bikes road trip up to San Francisco. The rain prevented us from riding other than a couple indoor parks for the most part but I still had a great time with Dennis Enarson, Allan Cooke, Ryan Nyquist, Seth Klinger, Ronnie Napolitan, and Marcus Tooker. Good times for sure.
I've been doing a lot of shooting down in San Diego with basically everyone that lives down there and stayed down at Enarson's house to shoot with some dudes last weekend.
Hopefully I'm going up to LA this weekend to shoot some stuff with the Subrosa crew while they are filming the rest of GUTI as well. Brad Simms and David Grant are staying at my house a couple days to shoot too.
What I'm trying to say is, SHOOTING HAS TAKEN OVER MY LIFE, and I'm loving it right now. I just haven't thought of posting much on here but I will when I get a chance and have photos I'm into that aren't getting used for anything.
BOOM.
