It’s a black musician (playing some kind of wind instrument and a drum simultaneously), from the 1493 Flemish painting Festival of the Archers (full image here). I’m afraid I don’t know anything about the figure in question or the painting more generally as we only briefly looked at it for a seminar on civic guilds, but I figured it might be of interest to you and your readers!

Protests in Bucharest Romania against the open cast, cyanide using, gold mining in Rosia Montana, Romania, but also against shale gas hydraulic fracking. Photos taken starting September 1st, 2013. For almost one month, he protests were held every evening, well into the night. In the last weeks, protests were held every sunday.
