Once upon a time there was the beauty of a place called Glen Canyon. This is a long time ago since the existence of the Glen Dam and Lake Powell. With the construction of the dam a town called Page was created in the middle of the Southwest. Page is now a attraction for the prime time locations in the surroundings. Lake Powell is just the most visible one, but there are Antelope Canyon, Wahweap Hoodoos, Alstrom Point and many other places with mysterious names - for example Stud Horse Point.
Interested in a photo tour through the American Southwest? I can help you with it and make you come back with unique shots.

The theme was Alphabet Mania and I got the letter "Q"
I made a "Quartet of Quizzically Quacking Quails".. it's a bit of a quirky quilt, but I'm really happy with it. It's the first quilt that I finished on my own from start to finish (also first appliques, free motion quilting, binding and label, whew!). It's 15" square.
Woohoo, SHIPtember: check!
It's been a while, but it was exciting to be back at it demanding 100+ studs of myself. This time in just 11 hours!! But I had a little help... a lot of help actually! This alien ship is a collab between Geneva
and I! She did the brown and I did the black.
It came together with lots of changes along the way, but in the end, to my surprise, it was pretty close to what I expected! Here's a video with a swwoooosh.
I can't go without mentioning the huge inspiration Mihu was, with his Alien Assimilator builds and theme. I did my best to fit the theme while still bringing some fresh aspects to the concept!
Aren't you glad it's not hovering above your city? :) Hope you like it, to God be the glory!

had this idea since October as well. i have tons of photo ideas from the October 2012 that I never did and I'm trying to go back and do them.
i think what kept me from doing this was the lack of studs.
a very quick shot of me, messy, waiting for the rain, while leon gently snores in his recliner.
I've been working in the little greenhouse.
someday I'll try to get a closer view of the opal.

Still haven't thought of a name for this one, suggestions welcome. And apologies for the photo quality. Total length on this one is about 103 studs. A few more detail pics to come.

Silver-studded Blue / plebejus argus. Lindrick Common, S.Yorkshire. 20/06/20.
'EXTRAORDINARY MEETING WITH A BUTTERFLY.'
When I visited Lindrick Common to photograph butterflies, I never imagined for one moment that I would have such an intimate encounter with this male Silver-studded Blue.
I didn't find him, he found me and landed on my t-shirt. Crawling over the cotton he began probing with his proboscis to extract salts ... I presume (?) ... from traces of my perspiration. Although he made occasional short flights, he always returned so I decided to sit on the grass and watch. Gross though it may seem to some, his fascinating performance prompted me to work out how I could take a photograph with one hand!
As if reading my mind, once he returned and obligingly landed on my rucksack. Problem solved, I had both hands free to adjust settings and use the camera. This image is one of the results and gives quite a nice side view of him. It shows the tip of his proboscis inserted between the strong strap fibres. It does leave me wondering if I ought to switch brands of anti-perspirant though!!! :-)
BEST VIEWED LARGE.

What a handsome fellow. The lady ducks were absolutely swarming all over him and following him everywhere.
