We live upstairs. It's not as big as it looks. Some of its prime features:
No insulation
No control over the thermostat
Pot-smoking neighbors
Leaky faucets and a rotting bathroom floor
Slow drains
A garbage disposal that doubles as a fountain
Exorbitant rent for a not-so-hot house in a less-than-ideal location
Being able to put your filthy-rich landlord's little girl through college while you try to do the same for yourself.

When the spring rains come, Dunedin turns mild and wet. I think it brings out the Scottish character very dramatically, and it's a good time to start photographing city scapes because of the added gloss everywhere. These images were taken in the student areas around the Polytechnic and university. I hope you appreciate that I got really, really drenched snapping these images. Haptchoo.
The University of Michigan has had East, West, and South quads for decades; it will soon have an 8 story north quad. In the distance can also be seen the construction of the replacement C.S.Mott Children's and Women's Hospitals.

Very new student housing, not yet inhabited.
While shooting I noticed all nets hooked on the outside of the (left) windows. They are probably attached to prevent the, sometimes lonely and depressed, students from jumping.

Forming one of the key gateways into the city centre, London Road never feels like a destination, more as a means for getting from A to B. Monument Place with TJ Hughes and the market stands in the far distance while shops of all denominations line both sides of this well travelled street.
Construction work has continued on several student accommodation schemes...this area of the city is potentially the best position for such a development given its close proximity to three Universities (Liverpool, LJMU and Hope at Shaw Street) and also the amenities of the city centre.
