As an aspiring freelance designer, I have begun working under the name of ‘Studio Element’. My vision for this brand was to keep it’s design simple, but effective whilst aiming to target a wider audience.
With the use of spot uav and colours, the concept has a modern feel whilst maintaining the vision of ‘simple, but effective design.

i'd love to say the whole thing was photoshopped.... but, alas, they did pose with him of their own free will.
Sometime in 2011, I decided that it was time to stop with the earrings. I cut off the studs I had bought and pierced at a tattoo parlour about 5 years ago. The decision centred around a lot of the health problems I've been experiencing over the last 2 years, and I felt it was better to eliminate unnecessary hygiene burdens.
My original piercing happened when I was 15-16. My dad flipped out bad...if I hadn't walked out, he would probably have broken my arm. As it stands, I had some pretty hefty bruises. Of course, at that time there was a lot of problems across the entire family. Stress was running high for everyone, and I probably said a few things that didn't help.
Most of the studs I had bought from that period to the point I got the new piercings are in a little jar that hasn't been opened for about 5 years. I wanted to see what was left.
I've owned probably twice this amount of earrings, but these are the ones that I thought worth keeping. You can see some silver marks on the backings, but most of these were bought at street stalls on Queen West, so I doubt there's much silver here...certainly not enough to bring to a jeweller's. Maybe $5, tops.
You can see some general themes emerging. The peace symbol in the second row is the second earring I ever bought. The dice in the top row and the crescent moon in the bottom are likewise early purchases. The yin-yang in the third row is probably the third or fourth I've owned. I've found that plastic insets in earrings tend to rot or fall out when cleaned. The skull in the top row is probably the last purchase. I like the yin-yang in the top row, as red and black are the colours of the Anarchist flag. Yeah, anarchists have a flag. Actually, they have tons of flags.
To take the shots I wedged each earring into a matchbox (suitably vintage). The only macro lens I have right now is the macro setting on a digital point-and-shoot, so it's really hard to see if you've focused properly. Most of the shots weren't cropped for this...I simply pasted them into a grid, did a transform on a few to make them fit, them cut the excess.
I did my best to clean these up, but in a few cases the dirt will be there till these are melted down for scrap. Maybe even then.
I have no idea what I'll do with them. Maybe someday I'll wear them again. For now, they go back in the jar.
