The structure was built as a Buddhist memorial. This Japanese pagoda is best viewed from the Pali Highway. Built in 1966, it is a 1.5 times replica of the 16th century Sanju Pagoda of Minami Hokko-ji, Nara, Japan. In 2003 the structure was placed on the Hawai'i Register of Historic Places.

There are some places you shouldn't go..
A rainy morning in Sunny Southern California, parking structures, and steep inclines wet with rain.
A poor scan of the lone image I was able to find of Mount Hope Park after combing countless books and archives. This looks like the park in a state of dissolution. A carousel is present, but the park once had many other rides and structures, including a pier (the ruins of which are still on site). A much nicer scan of the same image is available in Simpson (2001), Bristol: Mountaup to Poppasquash.

An arched structure in the back of the church, it appears to be an entrance. The building past the arch is part of an abandoned motel.

the white structure is Saint Peter in Chains Cathedral, the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati. It is a Greek revival structure located at 8th and Plum Streets in downtown Cincinnati. Saint Peter in Chains was begun with the laying of its cornerstone on 20 May 1841, under the direction of then-bishop—later archbishop—John Baptist Purcell, and formally dedicated on 2 November 1845. Its striking single spire, which soars to two-hundred and twenty feet above street level, was the tallest man-made structure in the city for many decades, and is constructed of pure white limestone.
The building in the background is Cincinnati City Hall.
I hope to get shots of the facades of these structures as well as Plum St. Temple.
