Poor little guy. His time on this icy plane was far too short....

This has been sitting on the table outside in the car park for about the last 3 or 4 months. It's incredibly tactile, and Jack tells us he dug it up when he was making the little garden. We think it's a tuber of some kind, it's very light and unbelievably strong. You can't get even the impression of a nail into it. let alone split it open, which we've been tempted to do - but we don't want to destroy it. I thought I'd take some pics and ask if anyone knows exactly what it is!
