Structural Strain is frustration or discontent caused by being in a disposition in the social structure. A disposition on the Women's Soccer Team "the social structure" is not getting playing time. Because it is human nature for everyone to want the “good stuff,” this idea also relates to life as a soccer player at Ohio University. Here, “good stuff” refers to playing time and high status on the team. Playing time is scarce and everyone wants some for themself and competes at practice every day in hope that they will receive some. Players have to keep improving, staying in good shape, and getting stronger in order to keep the “good stuff.” Even though we are friends off the field and care about each other, it is a constant war for playing time on the field.
The cathedral is located in the Cathedral Hill neighbourhood of San Francisco, California. The present cathedral replaced one (1891-1962) of the same name. The cathedral was designed by local architects John Michael Lee, Paul A. Ryan and Angus McSweeney, collaborating renown architects Pier Luigi Nervi and Pietro Belluschi — at the time, the Dean of the School of Architecture at MIT.
Its saddle roof is composed of eight segments of hyperbolic paraboloids, in such a fashion that the bottom horizontal cross section of the roof is a square and the top cross section is a cross.
In 2017, Architecture Digest named it one of the 10 most beautiful churches in the United States.

A.nti-Corruption or Social Justice: Mindless Rhetoric CANNOT Wipe Out REAL Struggles On the Ground! .
In this era of scams, corruption and blatant state-sponsored loot of public resources, the need of the hour is to build .
a massive people's movement against the UPA:NDA ied regimes 'of corporate loot. Moreover, for any campaign against .
corruption to be truly effective, and to ensure that the campaign tackles the root cause of corruption (which lies in neo-libarai policies of privatisation). it is absolutely imperative that the left forces in the country spearhead this movement. No other force has the ideological apparatus to link corruption with burning issues of corporate loot, or to tackle the structural and institutional causes of corruption. .
CPI(ML) Liberation and AISA had identified the need for a left-led movement on corruption long time back -long .
before the movements led by Anna Hazare or Baba Ramdev had caught national attention. And responding to this need, AISA had initiated a national campaign against corruption, corporate loot and state repr~sion way back in January 2011. Soon afterwards, on 14 March 2011, the All India Left Coordination (AILC), of which the CPI(ML) Liberation is an .
integral part, had organised a massive rally at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on these issues, where thousands of people from across the country had participated. AISA had also given a call to students in JNU to participate in this rally. All this is well-known to students of JNU. who have seen A!SA tirelessly campaign_against corruption privatjsatjon and corporate loot since the beginnina of this year. .
In April 2011, Anna !-Iazare's fast for a Lokpal Bill generated widespread mass support and national attention. We supported this specific demand, welcomed the mass upsurge, but also pointed out that corruption cannot be eradicated by a single legislation. The mass upsurge did confirm that AISA and CPI(ML) had been right in identifying .
the genuine urge of common people to resist corruption. .
In continuation of our anti-corruption agenda, AI SA and RYA took on the massive challenge of leading a mass campaign .
focusing on policy-related, structural, legalised corruption. Subsequently, throughout the summer months of May, .
June and July, AISA-RYA's Student-Youth Campaign Against Corruption and Corporate Loot reached out to people across .
the country in streets, market places, railway stations, coaching centres and buses with our message. Through our .
campaign, we have constantly exposed the real face of corruption, in the process exposing not just the Congress but also .
the BJP which champions the same economic agenda. The thousands of people who have read our campaign .
material, who have heard our songs and slogans, and read the CPI(ML)'s timely booklet on corruption will .
vouch for this. .
The high-point of this campaign was the 100-hr Student-Youth Barricade Against Corruption and Corporate Loot, For .
Democracy al Janlar Mantar during 9-12 Aug, where students defied police diktats and kept the Barricade going day-and-.
night. The Barricade culminated with a resolution to take the movemE,nt against corruption, corporate grab of land and .
resources, and state repression forward in the days to come. AISA activists showed black flags to Kapil Sibal on .
August 16th 2011. AISA has launched a countrywide campaign against corruption, privatisation of natural resources and .
education, and in defence of democracy. Not surprisingly, the protesting AI SA activists had to .bear. the brunt· of state .
repression, especially in BJP-run states! .
On August 24'h 2011, in ehavnagar, Gujarat, 700 student~ participating. in AIS~s anti~corruption march (including a large number of girls) were lathi charged. Four AISA leaders (Yunus Zakaria, J.ignaba Rana, Farida Zakaria and Sonal Chauhan)' were jailed. 5000 students held a bandh and protested against the local administration, forcing them to free the jailed activists. Challenging the attempts by communal fascists to ride piggyback on the anti-corruption. movef'(1ent, AI SA and RYJ\ -on their OWl} banner -took t~.-corruption initiative in their hands, and as a result, turned anti-corru'ption anger of young people against the Modi Government too. .
Throughout these months, AISA has taken on the issue of corruption head on, consistently mobilising public opinion .
on a positive radical left agenda. Most.u~fortunately, other 'le~' organisa~ion~ ~ave remaine~ c~mpletely silent on .
the issue, not bothering to take the left agenda to the masses at this crucial juncture. Not just this, the DSU has .
now woken up from months of slumber ONLY to launch a virulent attack on AISA and CPI(ML) Liberation. .
According to the DSU , we are opportunist1cally ·'riding' 'the ri[:Jht-wing, fascist, ·anti-reseNation wave··by 'joining· the· ·anti-" .
corruption masses at Ramlila Maidan, Jantar Mantar and elsewhere. .
Qpportunist Abuse Against AISA's Anti-Corruption Movement .
Apart from conveniently and deliberately ignoring the well-known fact that AISA had launched an indt§pendent .
campaign on corruption, DSU is now alleging that we have uncritically 'joined' the Anna Hazare movement! We would like .
to state loud-and clear: we-have taken osses on our·own potiticql bann~r.·Though the .
agenda as defined by Anna Hazare is undoubte-dly limitecL th~ aspiral~::m~ o~ th~ lakbs pf peopi~ on tb~ ~tre~ts tod<!-Y a~e .
driven by a genuine urge to end the impunity .of th~ c,orr~:Jpt a!)d powerf~l , and resist _corruption. W~ose rasp~nsibiH~y is-.
it to reach 'out to these people, heighten thefr consciousness, talk·about the real roots· of cor·ruplion, and .
mobilise them to think beyond the limited Lokpat agenda? Is this not the job of a radical left force? .
Let. us quote a press release js!':ued by the CPI(Maojst)·on April 1..3~20..11: .
''The Central Committee of the CPI (Maoist) welcomes countrywide response of the people against corruption. .
. . . We call upon workers, peasants, students, intellectuals, employees, pro-people Gandhians and all other patri~tic .
\ .
· .
forces to come fo!Ward and to form a broad alliance to fight against corruption which has affected our country!"'. -~ 'Comrades' from DSU: we have few simple questions: . .
.
liJ(! .
Why is tile CPI(Maoist) welcoming t11e 'countrywide response of people' if it is all elite, casteist and fascist in nature? .

FORT NORFOLK, Va. – For years, Mother Nature’s fury has steadily eroded the structural integrity of the Fort Norfolk pier and wharf area, seriously degrading its operational effectiveness and jeopardizing its safe operation. Broken, crumbling and missing pilings; underneath pier foundation completely deteriorated; wharf top cap rotten away; mooring fasteners and piling bolts – gone! That was then. Today, new state-of-the-art structural upgrades expand the facility’s operation and extend its useful life for up to 15 years. The Fort Norfolk Bulkhead and Pier Repair project, under the design and construction management of Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, began work in October 2011, and was completed ahead of schedule and more than $150,000 under budget. The Corps’ prime contractor, Team Henry Enterprises, LLC, based in Newport News, Va., is an 8A minority-owned small business. The project marked the first time Team Henry had performed work for Norfolk District, but their land work experience extended to other federal and state agencies. Completing the project ahead of schedule and below budget was no surprise to Steven Baum, Norfolk District’s project manager.

Structural steel for the Integrated Sciences Complex arrived on Wednesday, December 21, and the steelworkers have been busy erecting two stories of columns and beams on the north wing. The university community will see the ISC take shape as steel continues to go up and metal decks, concrete slabs and fireproofing are installed through the spring.
