Two railroads here meet on two railroads. UP 8314 creeps by on the ex-SP Martinez Sub while the northbound Coast Starlight led by AMTK 88 leaves it and enters the ex-WP Sacramento Sub. This occurs in the wee hours of the morning in the industrial backlots of Sacramento. The massive Blue Diamond facility looms over both railroads in the background on this wet and stormy night.
Good friend and fellow photographer, Jeremiah Sheckler stands a bit closer for his shot. Directly in front and below him is the Sacramento Sub which Amtrak will climb over and back down to join it and head north.
BNSF 4919 West sits in the siding at Denair California on BNSF Railway's scenic Stockton Subdivision.
My heart, my friend, my confidant, my protector. Miss Willow is all of these for me.
She is tender hearted, loving, loves to give kisses and receive them, is my guard and protector. She makes me laugh and sometimes pull out my hair with her stubborness :) She makes me happy. She wakes in the morning giving kisses and goes to bed giving them as well. I love her so.

My brother-in-law Ray was in a major car accident on January 12th and is still in ICU, 7 weeks later. He's a fighter.
He is still in a medically induced coma, but we hope he will recover soon. We love him so much.
Three very different VTA coaches converge on the Santa Clara Caltrain station on a beautiful spring afternoon. A 40-foot Gillig is seen leaving, the 30 foot El Dorado cutaway is seen laying over and the 60-foot New Flyer, behind is seen arriving at the station. An efficient and fluid system that moves millions daily.
Ambling around Corvallis I saw this corgie DANCING down the road. His enthusiasm for just BEING showed in his step, woof, and front paws.
This dog has made more than lemonade with the lemons life has given him!
An old Naval vessal is on its way to be stored in Texas. I do not recall the name of this ship, but my brother and I watched it until it became a speck on the horizon. Using APRS we later learned it was sent to a Navy Base in southern Texas.
On the start of a wonderful day and the beginning of a what is now a great friendship, I caught a glimpse of Patrick's train of thought when he looked up at the rail and cracked a big smile. At that moment I picked up my camera and snapped off six frames before he realized I was photographing him. This is the only frame that came out properly.
Its been nearly a year since Patrick and I have met - on Flickr - and gone on some amazing road trips taking some amazing photos together.
Как бросить курить самостоятельно? Этим вопросом рано или поздно задается практически каждый курильщик, но, к сожалению, лишь немногие переходят от слов непосредственно к делу.
Hangin' out on his post hoping I will go away. Checking out to see if that is a brush in my hand. We do have our skirmishes over grooming.
Southern Pacific Transportation Company unit number 266 is a 17 year old General Electric AC4400CW diesel-electric road locomotive. This unit is one of the last unpatched, repainted, modified or otherwise untainted unit on the rails of its new owner; the Union Pacific Railroad.
Today I evidently took a step back in time when this train came rumbling across the American River and across the famous Elvas Wye heading south down the Fresno Sub of the old Sacramento Division. I'm not sure if it was March 1994 or 2010.
While I've caught this special and rare moment in my lens this big unit has caught not only my undivided attention but my heart. The SP is a railroad that is missed by many and photographed today by few. I had no warning of this occurrence or knowledge that this fairly new unit was still proudly roaming the country in a coat of faded scarlet and gray.
This sight will be missed by many and preserved by few.
The ZG2LT hauntingly calls on the west-end of Soda Springs, CA on the first day of snow on Donner Pass. The 3000 ton intermodal train was heading three SD70Ms, one of which was UP 4000, the class of UP's nearly 1500 SD70Ms.
Shot I took in Japan about 10 years ago. This was on the side of an amusement arcade in Osaka. I love the blank sentiment of this, no idea where it comes from if anywhere.
A gentler and more personal side of Sacramento Regional Transit (RT) is shown here in the presence of a cutaway used on the small personable "Neighborhood Ride" that serves small but dense residential areas of the region. They feed into to key points around the community and of RT's massive spoke and hub routing system, which includes a 40-mile long light-rail system. The hub here is the American River College campus of Carmichael, California. The bus making the turn behind this cutaway takes students to and from ARC via Watt/I-80 Light Rail station and Sunrise Mall. The bus across the street is vital to college life as it serves ARC and CSUS. Without these routes RT would be a fraction of the size it is now.

Limited service 276 is seen here along the Bayshore Lagoon in Brisbane shortly after leaving Bayshore station, the last stop in San Francsico before really opening the throttle and fly to Gilroy.
When I can think of a better caption and title, I'll update this area. For now, enjoy this beautiful shot.
Throughout her life, Jasmine has proven to be a strong young woman of resolute spirit. Her steadfast heart and overwhelming desire to be free have allowed her to accomplish many incredible feats. Even so, the threat of Jafar that she faces is so great that even her resolute will might just be broken.
