Here's a lullaby to close your eyes goodbye

It was always you that I despised

I don't feel enough for you to cry, oh well

Here's a lullaby to close your eyes goodbye

Goodbye...

Portrait photos of Joey Strokes. Parkour athlete and actor. We added his long time girlfriend into the shoot at the end of the day for some romantic couple shots.

Lighting: Profoto B2 we used a single head and switched up between OCF Grid, bare head, and zoom reflector. I would have liked to have used the OCF Octobox but we had a strong wind all day making it a bad choice for the conditions.

2 stroke Garage in New York

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he

can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was

getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient

medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

Photo opportunities often present themselves, which saves me having to think too much!

Here, the Boo is having some fun time with our cat.

There is a maintenance man at work by the name of Dave "Stroke" Sherb-something-or-other (we can't spell it). Most of us just call him "Stroke". Stroke can be a very difficult man to get along with or befriend but once you befriend him there is nothing he wouldn't do for you and actually becomes a pleasure to be around. Now I had always heard he had turned his garage into a bar but I just assumed it was the typical man cave with a store bought bar and dorm sized fridge. Not too long ago Nikki and I stopped over there to have a peek and we were blown away. In the back of his garage is an actual miniature bar the size of a small bedroom. It has it's own entrance and every feature you would expect to see in your local pub. And I mean everything down to several beers on tap, glass door fridges and several types of drink glasses on display. While we were there I noticed there was one thing missing. On the back wall was a white dry erase board with the words "Stroke's Place" and his "Store hours". It was the funniest little place I had ever seen but looking around I thought this place needed a proper sign. Looking around I noticed the pub was decorated with a blues/music/guitar motif. As today is his 60th birthday and he was kind enough to invite a couple of us to Stroke's Place for a drink or two (chocolate milk for me thanks) I set to work today on his new sign. We will present it to him this evening. I hope he likes it.

(2009-311)

A new work of civic art is taking shape in downtown Pleasanton. Two artists, Ron Norman and Bill Weber, are hard at work painting a scene from Pleasanton's history on the galvanized metal wall of a business across the road from the Veteran's Park in downtown Pleasanton. The work is not yet complete, but is already looking pretty darned good... :)

I typically upload in small sets - don't just look at the latest one in my photostream as you might be missing something you'll like more.... and your comments are ALWAYS welcome :)
