My wife's aunt has this piano in her house, it's a beautiful, ornate model, from last century. Almost any angle of this piano is beautiful, but I wanted to capture the intricacies of the strings and inner-workings.

Part of the entertainment at the Celebration of International Women's Day in Edinburgh was this Japanese woman playing a shamisen, a traditional Japanese stringed instrument.

This week's Illustration Friday is strings so I decided to get literal and use it as my materials. This is sewn with some cotton yarn into a scrap of lokta paper I had laying around. It was fun doing something different for a change. I have been doing a LOT of work at the computer lately.
