We interrupt this sunflowery program.
Earlier this year, I had the privilege of being a behind the scenes photographer (and extra) for one of the scenes of a great web-series production.
The premier episode of No Strings, Please, produced by my friend Dawn Hall and a fantastic writer, director, and film maker, Gemal Woods, premiered last night in Bethesda. Although I wasn't able to attend, I did watch the episode and so can you.

Too bad the director wasn't too keep on having photos of him shared. Those were some of my favorites from the day.

I was walking around the harbour here and there and the most interesting thing I found wasn't boats, piers or buildings but these strings between poles and the pier. Go figure. :D It got even more interesting when I noticed they were almost all in different color.

the photos with the model is taken seperately and printed on paper. then the strings are stitched up to the paper and affixed to the hands.
look what the cheeky boys left around our roof; strings from their lost kites.
boys here, they do 'duels' and the kites are the weapons. gelasan is the way they use to sharpen the strings to cut their opponents' strings and be the winner. gelas=glass. they crush glasses to make a formula where they dip the strings in.
apparently, these are the non-gelasan strings. they tangled on our antenna, Euphorbia plants, flowers, and hanging from the edges of the roof and made so much of eyesores. cut and cleared them all this morning. but they will keep on coming as long as the days are pretty and the wind blows gracefully.

The idea for this image is actually from my 10-year old student who moved from Moscow to London. He didn't speak a lot of English but he expresses himself well in his work.
He arranged the ball of string and tried to photograph it a few times but he wasn't happy with the results so he explained to me (in broken English) how he wanted it to look so I took the image with my pocket digital camera.
He was very pleased with this one and I allowed him to include it on his portfolio– after all, it is HIS idea!
