a hand shaped by years, by chords pressed and strings plucked. the skin tells stories, rough like old roads, steady like the rhythm of a familiar song. the guitar hums beneath it, wood and wire worn with life. nothing fancy here. just music. just time. seen in berlin mitte, where echoes live in quiet hands.

I enjoyed a performance of The Bland New Heavies on that day. Because I made one bottle of the whiskey empty while dancing, the way to a house was curved and twisted.

この日ぼくは the bland new heavies の公演を楽しんできました。 僕は踊りながらウィスキーのボトルを1本からっぽにしたので、家への道はねじれて曲がっていました。

These strings of paper cranes were hanging off of the trees next to one of the walking paths at Thanksgiving Point. The handmade cranes were an interesting contrast to the flowers growing all around.

The image shows three guitar strings, one of which is broken. The nickel coils are wrapped around a steel core, the size of which affects the tome of the string.

I generally don't write long captions. However this was a day that will probably stick with me for a long time. It started with a tour of the 71 Garfield building to use as a gallery. The owners took a burnt out building and renovated it into one that is certified “Green” due to the additions of solar panels and geothermal heating and cooling. It was a day hanging around with good friends who love Detroit. These aren't people that just say it and maybe go to a couple Tigers games a year. These are people that are doing what they can to bring the city back. I'm talking about people taking it upon themselves to conceptualize and implement exhibits to showcase the art the people who love this city have to offer amongst other things..
To top it all off, we explored the Farwell building and upon making it to the roof, I looked out to view the city on the beautiful day it was and could hear the Detroit Electronic Music Festival like I had a radio next to my ear. Its days like this that you just let soak in.
