When you enter the courtyard, stress and anxiety disappear for one moment in time with the soothing monastery energy that falls like a blanket of peace over everyone and where negative thoughts disappear like cold snow in the burning sun.The buildings around the courtyard date from the seventeenth century. Through the gate you look straight at the old home of the provost. The ‘Besloten Hof’ was founded as a cloister in 1410 and inhabited by Norbertine nuns. In 1797 they were expelled by the French republicans. In 1836 the Franciscan sisters moved into the monastery. I took this photo in spring 2021.
Getting out & hiking into a place like this is always good for the mind, heart, & soul. At least it is for me! My son & two of my nephews went with me to Turkey Foot & Mize Mill Falls Saturday. Great day to be in the woods.
This past week has been extremely busy at work. Lots of IT issues popped up that needed to be addressed so there were many long days/nights. I think we have things under control now and I'm ready for some stress relief this weekend - which will include yard work and maybe getting the Nikon out of the bag and do some shooting. I'm ready for the weekend!

Stress can bring you down to the bottom of the shit well. You may need to change gears. I did so in my mountain bike and tested it today... 51 km of pleasure and energy :-)... and maybe building a new stress-free life...
Used to play pretend, used to play pretend, bunny
We used to play pretend, wake up, you need the money
Used to play pretend, used to play pretend, bunny
We used to play pretend, wake up, you need the money
We used to play pretend, give each other different names
We would build a rocket ship and then we'd fly it far away
Used to dream of outer space but now they're laughing at our face
Saying, "Wake up, you need to make money"

A small series that I’m planning to do, detailing William Tockman taking back his throne from Temple Fugate
There seems to be little fall color in the leaves around our area. The few trees that do show a little blush seem to have a brief hurrah and almost immediately discard the leaves altogether. I've heard the trees may have been stressed by an unusually wet summer as well as a hotter then normal September. There's frost in the forecast for tonight so we'll see what that does. In the mean time, this image is from a couple of years ago.
I find it somewhat humorous when i find visual manifestations of what I'm experiencing.
the ending-the-career saga continued as I announced I would need to break my commercial lease early. I was also waiting for the initial approvals to move forward with the transfer of my business, and it wasn't going as smoothly as I would have liked.
I don't like waiting.
Have you ever been stressed out? The answer would probably be "YES."
If you're a student at college or university, you're stressed in exam period. Some people play sports or some other thing to get relief. I used to do drawing and painting when I had such a situation.
In time of stress all I want is someone to talk to.. to listen.. to console me and to say everything is going to be alright. It is easy to get stressed out in our daily lives but once we take a look outside our lives we see there is much more important things in life.

Have a Joyful Saturday! :D
I'm not a fan of into-the-sun images. This was an experiment to stress the Kentmere400 film with Xtol/Rodinal development combination to see relative tonality with this combination. There was about a 7 stop range in this image by measurement, and by densitometry this film/developer caught about all of it. Not sure if the scan was able to show all of the tonality, but at least its a representation.

This was an unusual working, as it is one of the rare freight which ran through Birmingham New Street station. The date is 28th March 1978 and Class 25 No. 25277 is expending all of it's reputed 1250 hp as it struggles to lift this heavy Leyland Cars automotive working from Longbridge up the incline through Birmingham North Tunnel. Seen from St. Vincent Road bridge, the background illustrates the less attractive side of Birmingham, which at that time was becoming quite run-down. Monument Lane shed once occupied the land on the right. Nowadays this has all changed, as the Birmingham Indoor Arena is now built over the railway and the background factories. Good Morning. Sometimes photo ops just fall out of the sky and land in front of your moving vehicle. This Osprey was having a hard time with his rather large and struggling freshly caught breakfast when he landed in front of my car. Didn't want to stress him, so just took some shots from my car. Took him a few tries, but he was soon able to lift off and enjoy his fish in private.
