The emperor penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri) is the tallest and heaviest of all living penguin species and is endemic to Antarctica. The male and female are similar in plumage and size, reaching 122 cm in height and weighing from 22 to 45 kg. Feathers of the head and back are black and sharply delineated from the white belly, pale-yellow breast and bright-yellow ear patches. Like all penguins it is flightless, with a streamlined body, and wings stiffened and flattened into flippers for a marine habitat. Its diet consists primarily of fish, but also includes crustaceans, such as krill, and cephalopods, such as squid. While hunting, the species can remain submerged around 20 minutes, diving to a depth of 535 m. It has several adaptations to facilitate this, including an unusually structured haemoglobin to allow it to function at low oxygen levels, solid bones to reduce barotrauma, and the ability to reduce its metabolism and shut down non-essential organ functions. The only penguin species that breeds during the Antarctic winter, emperor penguins trek 50–120 km over the ice to breeding colonies which can contain up to several thousand individuals. 24547
This streamlined autocar was in use at Touringcar bedrijf W. van Aalderen. It was till 1970 located in this street. It had to move for modernization plans of the whole Amsterdam Central Station area, late 1960s/early 1970s.

New Haven Railroad I-5 class streamlined Hudson steam locomotive # 1409 with it train is seen after arrival while situated on a platform track at South Station, Boston, Massachusetts, July 28, 1946. These Hudson steam locomotives were utilized on the top named New Haven passenger trains due to their speed and excellent hauling power. In the background a few platforms over it appears there is an outbound commuter passenger which is due to depart soon by the number of passengers walking out on the platform.
The name of the photographer that captured this image on film is unknown. This is a modified, enhanced and cropped photo scan that is from a B&W negative in my personal collection.

New Haven Railroad Baldwin I-5 class streamlined 4-6-4 Hudson steam locomotive 1407 is spotted near the coaling tower in the Cedar Hill Yard at New Haven, Connecticut, ca Winter 1940's. There are two roundhouses situated behind the coaling tower. These Hudson steam locomotives could really move the Shore Line passenger trains and also the occasional Springfield Line train. You may notice that the NYNH&H Script Herald has been applied to the tender at this time period.

New Haven Railroad GE condemned "C" Streamlined EF-3 class motors, with motor 157 nearest the camera location, are spotted on storage tracks in the Bronx, New York, 1963. It appears at this time that the pantographs have not been removed. All ten of the EF-3 motors were retired in 1959, unfortunately, because with rebuilding and refurbishment these motors could have continued to provide great service for many more years most likely. The third locomotive back may be an EP-3 that is spotted on the next track along with an EF-3 motor.

Main story

I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.

she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

３ 奇想天外。作者の前後のアルバムから推測できない驚きが見える。
４ 詩。楽曲。プロデュース。アルバム全体のコンセプトが統一されている。
５ 透明感があると個人的には惹かれる。

Streamlined 4-8-4 J-Class locomotive No. 611, glistening in the morning sun at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, N.C.
In the 1950, this was one of the last steamers built in the U.S., as evolving diesel locomotive technology was already replacing steam. Norfolk and Western ran this locomotive only until the late 1950s. Enthusiasts saved it from the scrapper’s torch, and it is in working condition today.
New York Central Dreyfus Designed Streamlined J-3 Hudson steam locomotive # 5451, is seen while on display at the Worlds Fair in Flushing Meadows, New York City, 1939 - 1940. A staircase has been provided for visitors to view the inside of the steam locomotive's cab. Check out the Scullin Disc drivers that are installed on this engine. You probably won't find a much cleaner and shiny Hudson photo, except for a possible builders photo. Behind this locomotive is what appears to be a Norfolk & Western A-class articulated steam locomotive. On the next track behind the locomotive there appears to be one of the Spanish Talgo trains on display.
The name of the photographer that captured this image on film is unknown. This photo came from my personal collection of Railroad images, however, this negative came from a friends personal collection.

The Norfolk and Western J class was a class of fourteen 4-8-4 (Northern) streamlined steam locomotives built by the railway's own Roanoke Shops located in Roanoke, Virginia from 1941 to 1950 and operated by the Norfolk and Western Railway (N&W) in revenue service until the late 1950s. No.611 was in the last batch of three locomotives which were rolled out in the Summer of 1950, marking the last steam passenger locomotives built in the United States
This streamlined, subtly coloured bud has now opened to be a beautiful pink daylily (Hemerocallis). I haven't taken a photograph of it open - two lilies in a row are quite enough for now! Happy weekend, everyone!

Sujiatun depot in Shenyang was not only a major steam shed & workshops but it was also home to a collection of preserved engines.
Here QJ 2-10-2 151 is seen passing streamlined SL7 4-6-2 751. Built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries in 1934 for the South Manchuria Railway it was operated for the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo. SL7s pulled the Asia Express & trains reached a top speed of 140 kilometres per hour (87 mph). A second non-streamlined SL7 - 753 - was also present.
Two other QJs are also in shot; 557 to the left and 141 behind 751.
Streamlined observation car "Royal Street", built originally for the post-world war II "Crescent" operated by the Southern, Louisville & Nashville and Pennsylvania railroads between New Orleans and New York City, trails the consist of Amtrak train number 50, the "Cardinal", operating in private excursion service, at Manassas, Virginia on April 29, 2007.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

The eastern great egret (Ardea alba modesta), a white heron in the genus Ardea, is usually considered a subspecies of the great egret (A. alba). In New Zealand it is known as the white heron or by its Māori name kōtuku. Measuring 83–103 cm in length and weighing 0.7–1.2 kg, the eastern great egret is a large heron with all-white plumage. Its bill is black in the breeding season and yellow at other times, and its long legs are red or black. The colours of the bare parts of the face change to green during the breeding season. The breeding plumage is also marked by long neck plumes and a green facial area. The eastern great egret can be distinguished from other white egrets and herons in Asia and Australia by its very long neck, one and a half times as long as its own body. The eastern great egret has a wide distribution throughout Asia and Oceania, with breeding populations in Australia, Bangladesh, China, Nepal, India, Indochina, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Russia (north-eastern), Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The egret breeds across Australia but only rarely in the southwest of the continent or dry interior. The largest colonies within Australia are in the Top End and Channel Country, which can number several thousand pairs. Colonies in the southeast of Australia can number several hundred pairs. The bird is an uncommon autumn and winter visitor to Tasmania. The diet includes vertebrates such as fish, frogs, small reptiles, small birds and rodents, and invertebrates such as insects, crustaceans, and molluscs. The eastern great egret hunts by wading or standing still in shallow water and spearing prey with its bill. The eastern great egret often breeds in colonies with other herons, egrets, cormorants, spoonbills and ibises. One brood is raised a year, although the breeding season varies within Australia. In the north of the country it is in March to May, in southern and central Queensland December and January, and October to December in the south. Located atop trees at a height of 20 m or more, the nest is a flat wide platform of dry branches and sticks with a shallow basin for eggs and young. The clutch consists of anywhere from two to six pale blue-green eggs, with three or four being the usual number. They are oval in shape and measure 52 x 36 mm. This is my favourite image taken in the pool the other night. Before the shoot this was one of the concepts I had in mind and I managed to achieve it. I wanted to capture the bubbles from the swimmer nose as he pushed off.

New Haven Railroad I-5 class streamlined Hudson steam locomotive # 1407 with its westbound passenger train that is operating on the Shore Line is at the station in New London, Connecticut, ca 1940's. The I-5 class Hudson always seemed to present a regal look to just about any train in my opinion. You can see a vessel near the station area. Various vessel that were operated from New London nearby the station served the nearby islands such as Block Island.

Welwyn Garden City
The evening express passes through Welwyn Garden City on the fast line, pulled by a new German built Reichsbahn class 03-1002 locomotives, built 1939 ( a digital reconstruction )
After the side path of the Panhard I return to the streamlined car and pick up the story again at Tatra.
In 1933 Tatra presented their compact V570 prototype. It was developed by engineer Hans Ledwinka (Austria, 1878-1967) based on the ideas about streamlined cars by Paul Jaráy (Hungary, 1889-1974).
After Tatra had decided not to continue with the V570, Tatra encouraged their engineers to continue on the streamline car path. This resulted in the revolutionary T77 which was developed during 1933.
The Tatra T77 was first presented at the Prague Car Salon in March 1934. In the same month the T77 made its German public debut on the Berlin IAMA motor show. Here this futuristic car was admired by Führer Adolf Hitler. Already in Dec. 1933 he made some sketches of an streamlined rear-engined small car affordable for the common people. In the Tatra concept he found confirmation of his ideas and ordered Ferdinand Porsche to develop such an innovative car. We all know the outcome...
The Tatra T77 was based on the ideas about aerodynamics by designer and engineer Paul Jaray (Hungary, 1889-1974). Technical engineer was Hans Ledwinka (Austria, 1878-1967, also designer and engineer), while the body was designed by engineer and car designer Erich Übelacker (Czech, 1899-1977).
Jaray was an early pioneer in streamlined airplanes and car bodies. Ledwinka invented the so called backbone chassis: a frameless central tubular chassis with swing axles and with independent suspension. He had a preference for rear-mounted air-cooled engines, which were applied in all streamlined Tatras. The revolutionary ideas of these automotive inventors resulted in one of the greatest cars ever, at least to my opinion.
The Tatra T77 was the first successfully serial produced rear-engined car according to the streamlined principles.
Note the split windscreen. In 1933 it was still not possible to make a one-piece curved front window. Later T77 models would get a three-piece windscreen like we also see in the later 1936 Panhard Dynamic.

NYC Henry Dreyfuss streamlined Mercury K-class Pacific 4-6-2 steam locomotive 4915 with its 7 car train is preparing to depart Michigan Central Station in Detroit, Michigan, ca late 1930's. This train entered service in 1936 and lasted into the 1950's. The trains consist provided a Parlor observation, a lounge buffet, parlor car, diner and coaches for its service in both directions between Detroit, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio via Toledo. Ohio. This trip is a total of 164.5 miles and from Detriot to Cleveland the time 2 hours - 50 minutes, Howerver; from Cleveland to Detroit the time 2 hours - 45 minutes. One interesting thing about this steam locomotive is that the drivers have lights on them to be seen at nightime for an impressive presentation of a working engine. The cars provided for this train set were actually older heavy weight cars that were partialyl rebuilt and overhauled, plus then they received new interior designs provided by industrial designer Henry Drewyfuss.
Four S Class express passenger locomotives were built by the Victorian Railways, entering service in 1928. The bottom model shows S 300 in its original unstreamlined form with the red livery it received in 1934.
With the introduction of the new Spirit of Progress service in 1937 (providing the Victorian leg of the Melbourne to Sydney express), the locomotives were streamlined and received a new blue and gold livery. The top model shows S 302 after streamlining with the larger tender required for the express run from Melbourne to Albury on the New South Wales border.
Streamlined NSWGR locomotive 42101 is an 1800 HP Co-Co, built by Australia's GM/EMD licensee, Clyde Engineering in 1965. It is seen here taking its turn for display on the fully operational turntable at the Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre which was the venue for the very successful Streamliners 2016 event recently.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

This streamlined little guy is a bishop's mitre shieldbug (Aelia acuminata) clinging on to the seedhead of a blade of grass just outside the Naturum park information centre in Tyresta National Park during the Midsummer's Eve celebrations.
The Swedish name for this guy, "liten spetsnäsa" literally means "minor pointy-nose".
