This photograph captures a serene water stream deep within the Sinharaja rainforest, near the edge of Deniyaya. The image highlights a small waterfall and the dense, surrounding forest. The water flows over mossy rocks, creating a gentle cascade that is a part of the larger, intricate ecosystem of the rainforest. The shot beautifully conveys a sense of untouched nature, where the water is a living thread weaving through a tapestry of lush greenery. It's a quiet and intimate portrait of a hidden corner of this ancient forest.
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, school started and my new hobby (cycling) is taking up quite a lot of time. My family took a trip to the Trinity Alps and Mt. Shasta where I took what I consider to be my first acceptable landscape photos. There are many with similar compositions to this, I'll post more later.
Explore #245 on Sept. 1!!!!
I had been contemplating this shot for many years now. I had tried several times but luck was not in my favor.
My friend Dr Bishan got a dream shot a couple of months ago and it got me excited again.
Last weekend my friends had visited Coorg and we engaged in Macro photography for 3 days straight. Shoot-eat-sleep-repeat was our mantra.
While visiting a stream I got the opportunity again. Spent around 30 mins carefully following it from perch to perch until it allowed me to go close enough.
Once up close, it was a waiting game. Being ready to fire off a few quick shots whenever it opens its wings.
About a dozen unsatisfying tries later I finally got this shot.
Another image from Enån stream in Värmland county in Sweden, you can almost feel the trolls watching you.
I took a couple of photos at this spot along the West Highland Way in 2011, with a wider angle lens, and despite some technical shortcomings really liked them. But due to being convinced it was in a slightly different area about a mile further east, I could never relocate the exact spot.
Ten years later - almost to the day - I finally found it again, completely by chance. However, I think the wider angle did it more justice so I must give it another go next time I have the opportunity.
On our way over to Oxbow Bend (I wanted to check the area out as a potential sunrise spot) we crossed over this river ... it caught my eye, so we pulled over beyond the bridge so I could explore for a few minutes.
Made a couple LE captures at this location. This one was composed with the Tetons off there in the distance. Like the river and the rocks there along the bank.
