A flickr friend asked if some of my work was from Griffin Park. When I replied that it was not, my daughter and I went out to explore. It is a park donated years ago and origially the Griffith Ranch. Imagine this in your backyard, well fortunate people live in an area just up stream called Discovery Ridge. It is nature right out your backyard.
The water in this small stream looks nearly black in the early morning light, but it is vibrantly clear as it flows into Watson Lake.
I found this stream on our hike through Yosemite National Park.

there is no permanent channel here; the water goes where it pleases -- a network of small rivulets. It's hard to explain the unique thrill of walking over the ice, listening to the water trickle underneath my feet...

Camping weekend at my lot in West Virginia. This used to be a river that people could kayak on until a dam was built upstream.
As it flows through the limestone karst formation of the Urbasa plateau, the waters that emerge as the Urederra have picked up minerals that turn them a glorious turquoise blue.
There she was just watching a show streaming on phone, while Thanksgiving was being prepared. I just saw her just sitting there observing her contently. So I had to take the picture, I even sent it to her. Barely fazed her.
Devils Kitchen, named because it looks like a chimney, and in olden days when there was cloud on the mountains it looked like smoke coming out of the chimney, and it was said that it was the devil cooking.
Cwm Idwal is a very popular attraction for visitors interested in walking, climbing, fishing and geology.
Cwm Idwal is a national nature reserve, and one of the few places in Britain where the Snowdon Lilly can be found. It is an area to be treated with extra special respect. It is an area which is home to lots of wildlife.

I was finally able to do a little hiking this past weekend. The temperature was perfect, it was cloudy, and the best part: NO RAIN! =)
