These things seem so cute before St. Patrick’s Day and then afterwards they just seem silly. I went back to work today after more than a week off and I remembered how little I enjoy credit cards, banking and compliance. It’s a living, I guess.
I was hoping to catch a shift change at St. Pat's, so I stuck around for awhile. After about 30 minutes, this guy does some excellent Nap-of-the-Earth flying, barely clearing the trees, and flies 20 feet over my head. Mom* flies out to meet him, they have a little dance over the vacant field, and then this guy flies into the nest and Mom flies off to the west.
* I have to admit that at this point I can't distinguish Mom from Dad. I'll have to talk to Ralph about marking one of them.

St. Patrick's gothic revival church of 1840 is partnered by buildings of a similar vintage in Camp Street, New Orleans.
I know it's early but I thought I'd get in before the leprachauns and the green beer LOL...
Not much of a fuss is made here on St Patrick's Day - Maybe you have to be a 'Paddy' far from home to fully appreciate it. There will be some parades; good, bad and indifferent, However, it is guaranteed that at every mass on the day, this song will be sung, either as an opener, or a closer, or both!
I wonder how many of you will know it already?????
Two verses will be sung, 1 & 5 as the others don't really resonate in today's world - a bit on the strong side:)))
