Take one vase, fill with water. Place against blue background (mine wasn't really blue enough), on top of silver reflector in strong sunlight. Crank up the voltage on your sensor to ISO 800, at around f/8.0 which gives a shutter speed of 1/4000 which is enough to freeze the action. Put the camera in continuous high-speed shooting, and hold the strawberry in view while you focus on it (I did this manually). Then shoot away with a cable release whilst dropping the fruit into the water repeatedly until you get what you want.
Now - is it best to leave the bit at the top above the water line to give some context, or does it clutter the image? (I've cropped it off in this version.
This is definitely not a part of my 365.
So I haven't been sleeping at night very much lately. I was up tonight at 430AM and I had nothing better to do so I decided to make a stop motion finally, I've been wanting to do so for a while and it's about damn time.
I'm sure I'll make another//better one soon, but this one will do for now. :)

If you don't know Mayan mythology, this probably won't make sense. If you know Mayan mythology, this probably won't make sense. Don't worry - the gods give Hunahpu a replacement head later, and then he steals the real one back. Oh, and that bat guy is a vampire god.
Made for the BricksInMotion.com Animation Challenge. This time around, the challenge was 'kicking a ball', so I decided to kick a head instead.
Yes, emm, I mentioned this stop-motion forever ago. It's sort of a promo for the band that my friend Sarah (the model in this) and I are starting. We shot the video, wrote the music and recorded it in my dad's music studio (which so happens to be in my basement, score) today for three hours. Very exhausting, but I am pleased. :)
I've decided to release some of my old ATTEMPTS of stopmotion for you guys to poke fun at! Please visit my Youtube channel and SUBSCRIBE!!! Enjoy! :D

Craig and I were going through some random video snippets from the past and found this little stop motion that I made of myself outside Kyoto Japanese restaurant in Greenfield, WI, back in 2007.
Inside somewhere were my bff Richard and our friend Jason.
Twas Richard who, just this evening, helped me discover that I've viewed over 10,000 free XTube movies.
"You're ten times hornier than I am," he said to me.
"Nearly 30, if you're going by the number of our favorites," I replied.
The stairs are now finished.
Set, puppet and baby animation by Sachiko. Girl animation by me.
Hooray!
The actual thing is clearer, I just had to make it look worse in order to post it on flickr :P
A friend made my sister an origami fishy.
The song is "Thursday" by:Takenobu.
The rest of that song is pretty amazing. As is the rest of his C.D. ^_^

Firstly, a couple things.
Yes, I do realize that it's over exposed, I plan on using a lamp for steady lighting in the future.
No sound, I need to get a microphone to do recording with for these type things.
This took fifteen minutes, so it's not superb quality, plus it was my first Stop-motion in about three years.
: D
And lastly, I know the frames could be a bit faster, I'm working with Windows Movie Maker and that's not very good for doing this type of thing.
Thoughts?
Would you guys like to see more of these in the future?
Let me know!

I'm sure the people who dumped this old fish tank on their front lawn over the winter for me to snag had no idea that such fun could come out of it sans-fish.
Spent about 4 hours dropping and splashing random things into the 55 gallon tank last night. Colin even had to rush over to partake in the festivities, once he caught wind that I was even dunking my head! ;) Don't act surprised.
You know I'm that hard-core!
