this is an old stop motion I made...last year I think. I'm quite glad that flickr has added this feature and I highly recommend stop motion videos as a format if you don't have a video player (and you have a lot of time)

This is the stop motion i made a few days ago but it didn't get as much as views. well now I'm making it less exciting showing you guys everything but I simply couldn't wait. hahaha and thanks for my little brother and sister for helping me out a bit:=) they're lovely. and I've AAAALWAYS wanted to do a shoot with milk, but the truth is as a POOR student in Oslo I couldn't get myself to waist that money:P hahah and I don't really even like drinking milk which is a REEEALLY norwegian thing to do (besides eating BREAD 3 times a day). The Message Project <3 is a collaborative interactive project!
So we started this stop-motion where the first person makes one of those can/cup phones and passes a positive message along. Another person, in a completely different place gets the message and passes it along.
Why the fake phone? It's supposed to represent that making a person happy and spreading a positive message is easier than we think.
So here's what you have to do:
1. Make a fake phone, using cans or cups and a cord. It's so easy to make, it takes minutes!
2. Make a sequence of photos (the more the merrier) of yourself or a friend, receiving a call from this fake phone, smiling, and then passing whatever you think the message was into the other cup/can. *
3. Be creative! shoot your stop-motion outdoors, indoor, up on a tree, anything! :)
4. You don't have to actually put the photos together yourself. You can just send** me the sequence of photos and I will put them together in the final video.
5. Spread the word! Write about this project on your photostream so we can have as many people participating as we can!
6. You have until after the holidays to send me the sequence of photos!
P.S. We already have a nice ending for this video, that will be attached in the end, as a closure.
Also, the final song won't be this one, since I imagine the video will be much longer and this song is too short. You are welcome to suggest a soundtrack for this project, preferably an instrumental one - no lyrics.
*Let me remind you that the cord and the cans must be coming from two different places, since you're passing the message along to another person, not to the same phone/yourself. So, it's actually as if there were two phones.
**You could email me the pictures, but I think it'll be a slow process.

Project aborted due to lack of participation from other people. :P
Another exploding tree ornament, black background proved to be way more difficult than the translucent background I started with. Less light, because the source had to be further away, the black also absorbed way more than I thought it would. Timing proved to be a bit more tricky too. There is something cathartic about this type of photography with repetitiveness of the motions and the problem solving involved to get to the point that I have what I wanted in the first place with the BB clearly visible.
Fuji GFX50s/GX680 Hybrid, 65mm Fujinon GX, ProFoto B10 strobe set to freeze and 1.2 power. ISO 1600, f/11 at 1.5 second, 1/25,000 sec flash duration.

Yes. It's that time of year for my end-of-the-year video!
2015 was pretty grand.
And I've travelled to so many places, and taken sooo many pictures, but only snippets have made it into this stop-motion.
