Footsteps lost to snow,
Nature’s call, a quiet plea,
Stop, breath in silence.
Afternoon light catching bare tree branches at the Temple of Sinawava, shuttle stop #9 on the Zion National Park loop. I visited on a whim on the return leg of a road trip and it ended up being one of the most satisfying vacation days of my life, thanks to fresh eyes, Fall light, and mild temperature.

Stopped for lunch at Lake Davis, CA. while meandering off the pavement and found this scene most pleasant while eating before meandering up into the yonder hills.
the sign says stop. the pavement says otherwise. the shadow has already decided. nobody is asking permission.
