After cresting the switchbacks and leaving Ross Lake - the Little Beaver Trail continues relatively flat for miles. We reached a point that opened up and we could see the valley we were making our way through and we stopped for lunch.

This was the last thing on Rt 66 in Oklahoma before crossing the Texas/Okla state line. However, In our case it was the first stop as we were coming from Texas into Oklahoma

Our last stop before returning to Bangkok on our road trip was at the seaside resort of Hua Hin. Long time followers will remember a series of pictures from there not too long ago where I featured Chopsticks Hill. Our resort hotel was just along from there - here was our night time view

The Silver Sky dome observation car mirrors the setting sun as the Rio Grande Zephyr speeds into Provo, Utah at 8:25 p.m. on July 26, 1976.
Try to hold a straight face when looking at this little guy. It took me a second to realize that it was a Titmouse, he had a most enjoyable time in the bath.

In the Netherlands, everything along the coast is flat. In Normandy, from Le Havre heading NE for 100km+ is all white cliffs. I think it's gorgeous. Earth just stops and then... sea!

I know it's something different than expected hehe
It began like a horror B-movie: one wrong turn and we were suddenly inside Lærdalstunnelen (the longest road tunnel in the world, and we really had no idea)
Midway through, a police officer stepped out and stopped us - no other cars, no explanation, and he didn’t speak a word of English. Just silence and tunnel hum (and me, claustrophobic).
Then something emerged from the darkness… a maintenance vehicle.
The officer waved us on, and ten minutes later we were back in the daylight - the best happy end ever.
Metelkova is one of the weirdest places to see in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital. Formerly, the site was the Slovenian headquarter of the Yugoslav National Army. The buildings have been squatted since September 1993 in a declared illegal way, mainly by artists, activists and young students. In 2005, Metelkova was declared a national cultural heritage site and the European Cultural Fund attributes financial support. If you like graffiti, weird art, and quirky sculptures then this is the place to head to.
One of the tram stops on the Old Market Square in Nottingham, at the time of the Christmas Market.
I quite like this scene, lots going on and the composition seems to work nicely.

At a rest stop on a trail in the Rockies, this Least Chipmunk came to investigate. It was probably looking for a handout, but I don't feed the wildlife. After a few minutes of scampering over and around a nearby rock pile, it began foraging for its natural food.
I had not hiked this trail since 1977; there were a lot more people on it 36 years later. I remembered hiking through a fairly recent burn the first time - lots of fireweed and blackened stumps in the lower part, before I got into the alpine. Not much had changed in that respect, except that there were signs of more recent fires. This process is ongoing, and is the primary means by which forests regenerate.

as I weed and prune
I brought out the canvas chair from the greenhouse. in the mornings it holds my flannel shirt when I get too hot, my iced coffee, a thermos of cold water, and a vase full of the flowers I can't bear to toss when I prune off a flowering stalk of something. this shows orange crocrosmia and purple roses.
at night the flowers remain.
on left, in color, Diana Instant with Fujifilm Instax. the camera died after this shot and I wasted a box of film trying to fix it.
on right, in b&w, OneStep2 with Polaroid I-Type film and a little PS coloring.
