These stockings were all made my maternal grandmother, my mom's in the fifties, my dad's when he married in to the family, and my sister's and mine when we were born. Tradition!
Turkish stockings purchased in Gaziantep in southeast Turkey. Lefthand stocking is turned inside out to show carrying of colors. 100% scratchy wool

Ours hang on the staircase. This is our "foyer" which opens pretty much right into the living room. The stack of snowpants, and winter gear is in a messy basket right underneath these serene looking stockings.

While visiting my parents for Christmas, my sister threw Luna in my stocking over the fireplace. She was tired after a long day of playing in wrapping paper and lazily sat there for a few pictures before we took her down :).
I've used a flash to capture this mushroom as a result of the fact that we had been down in the Warren Woods most of the day and hadn't found a mushroom of any great interest, and then on the return, journey, as the light was failing, there right on the edge where the land meets the beach was this little solitary honey, as a consequence the light was failing. Then whilst I was on bended knee Vincent had to make polite conversation with a passerby who was intrigued at what on earth I could be photographing with such a great seascape behind me.
With a mostly grey to brown mottled, filly edged conical cap, it had not been raining, so it is naturally shinny. The gills and stem are white, until you get the base when the stem echoes the cap colour and you find the remains of universal veil, which is like when your stockings fall down, saucy!
Help with identifying would be appreciated as I can't find anything that fits, is it from France, only 26 miles behind me? Is it a Russula langei Langejeva golobica?
