It took forever to knit these and there are so many mistakes in the very simple faggoting pattern, but not enough to go back and fix them. Damn it, what's knit is knit! But I am pleased they actually function the way they should! Mind you, I'm glad I added the couple of extra inches at the ankle otherwise there is no way I'd have been able to attach my garter belt to the tops at all!! There were 3 seams to do on each sock and two grafting of stitches. So not your usual seamless sock at all!! The only way I would EVER try this experiment again is if I could figure out how to do the faggot stitch in the round but quite honestly it's probably not worth it. Just find a normal sock pattern or stocking pattern and go from there! Was glad for the experience though :)

Since we don't have a fireplace mantle this year, our large bookcase is serving as the second part of our Christmas display.
I want the african american version in this line, but she was not at the toys r us in my area so I got this one, who I also wanted anyway. She is sooooo pretty and cute! Very endearing face...Love her eyes and lips...her hair, gloves, and dress ++ stockings are too cool...
She looks soo much like Martine!! Pics below

Nap time announced, Bear assembles her pastel crayons, snaps them up in their case, and gathers it and the coloring book to square away into the bottom drawer, the one designated for kids' crafts. Once she and her brother are tucked in, snotty-nosed sick, heads filled with the latest Narnian installment, I fish the coloring book out to analyze Bear's work. What I find is that, while, at twenty-one months, she's still too young to dissuade of the notion that coloring needs to happen between the lines, she's been setting a trajectory towards spots on the page where color is meant to be applied. And she makes it happen. For the fourth time this hour, I'm blown away at the little person she is becoming. (This photos, of course, has nothing to do with anything, but I couldn't resist the stockinged tippy toes.)
