Marmolated Stinkbug nymph that has just shed it's skin. Amazing how pretty they look when they are freshly molted!
This goldenrod had some scarce shieldbugs, ambush bugs, and tiny flies. All survivors of the previous night's freeze. HBBBT everyone!
This guy was not cooperating, running all over a large rock. I finally got a side shot before it tumbled over the edge and off into the grass and out of sight. First adult of this species I've photographed, had seen one nymph prior. Maybe because they are a nocturnal stink bug. Love the name, Elf Shoe. Look at that one black toe on the end of each foot.

I was waiting for some little stink bugs to hatch but then this parasitic wasp came out of one of the eggs.
The female wasps lay eggs inside clusters of stink bug eggs. After a wasp egg hatches, the larva eats the stink bug egg host, killing it in the process and then bursting out as an adult wasp.
Found them in my garden in The Netherlands.

Shot under harsh sunlight, I added a little fill flash(handheld 430EX on camera's right) to lift the shadows.
Really loving the 7D's wireless flash commander function :)
I wanted to link a picture of my first Front Page, but somehow it doesn't work. Anyway, thanks so much for viewing my stream and leaving comments. Really appreciate it :D
Shield bugs, also known as stink bugs, are a common sight in British gardens, parks, and countryside. They are characterised by their flat, often triangular bodies and distinctive, shield-like shapes.
