-------------------------------------------------
Heinrich Schütz (German: 18 October [O.S. 8 October] 1585 – 6 November 1672) was a German early Baroque composer and organist, generally regarded as the most important German composer before Johann Sebastian Bach and one of the most important composers of the 17th century. He is credited with bringing the Italian style to Germany and continuing its evolution from the Renaissance into the early Baroque. Most of his surviving music was written for the Lutheran church, primarily for the Electoral Chapel in Dresden. He wrote what is traditionally considered the first German opera, Dafne, performed at Torgau in 1627, the music of which has since been lost, along with nearly all of his ceremonial and theatrical scores. Schütz was a prolific composer, with more than 500 surviving works.
He is commemorated as a musician in the Calendar of Saints of some North American Lutheran churches on 28 July with Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel.

Engleski prijevod (English)
The LP record you mentioned, catalog number SMS 2426, is a significant recording of the Baroque masterpiece by the German composer Heinrich Schütz titled "Weihnachtshistorie" (Christmas History).
Here are the key details regarding this release:
Basic Information:
•Label: Concert Hall (often in collaboration with the Musical Masterpiece Society).
•Release Year: Originally released around 1965 in Switzerland.
•Performers: * Chorus and Orchestra: Chorus and Chamber Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper).
oConductor: The legendary Hans Swarowsky, famous as the teacher of many great conductors (such as Claudio Abbado and Zubin Mehta).
oSoloists: Notable soloists on this recording include renowned names like Teresa Stich-Randall (soprano), Kurt Equiluz (tenor – in the role of the Evangelist), and Nikolaus Simkowsky (bass).
About the Work:
•Title: Historia der Geburt Jesu Christi (SWV 435).
•Significance: This 1664 work is considered one of the most important precursors to Bach's oratorios. Schütz utilizes a dramatic style (likely influenced by his time in Italy with Monteverdi) to tell the story of the birth of Jesus.
•Recording Characteristics: The recording led by Swarowsky exudes the classical Viennese style of the mid-20th century. Although Baroque music is more commonly performed today on period instruments (historically informed performance practice), this recording holds great historical and collector value due to the world-class singers of that era.
Collector's Info: The record is typically found in stereo format, and the sleeve often features extensive liner notes about the piece. On the second-hand market (such as Discogs or specialized auctions), this release is regarded as a solid example of 1960s European classical discography.

Ploča koju spominjete, pod kataloškim brojem SMS 2426, predstavlja značajnu snimku baroknog remek-djela njemačkog skladatelja Heinricha Schütza pod nazivom "Weihnachtshistorie" (Božićna povijest).
Evo ključnih detalja o tom izdanju:
Osnovne informacije o izdanju
•Izdavač: Concert Hall (često u suradnji s Musical Masterpiece Society).
•Godina izdanja: Originalno objavljena oko 1965. godine u Švicarskoj.
•Izvođači: * Zbor i orkestar: Zbor i komorni orkestar Bečke državne opere (Wiener Staatsoper).
oDirigent: Legendarni Hans Swarowsky, poznat kao učitelj mnogih velikih dirigenata (poput Claudija Abbada i Zubina Mehte).
oSolisti: Među istaknutim solistima na ovoj snimci pojavljuju se poznata imena poput Terese Stich-Randall (sopran), Kurta Equiluza (tenor - u ulozi Evanđelista) i Nikolausa Simkowskog (bas).
O samom djelu

I made this for Regretsy. Someone sent it a vagina wedding dress saying it reminded them of the site: www.regretsy.com/2011/06/16/from-the-mailbag-mnsfw/. I think it's funny that people associate the site with vaginas.
I really wish I had a gynecologist friend to give this to.
