International Harvester Metro Van was produced from 1938 until 1975. The Metro Van was a Step van, also known as walk-in or multi-stop delivery trucks. These vehicles were usually forward-control trucks once commonly used as milk and bakery delivery trucks that allow the driver to stand or sit while driving the vehicle. The Body was built by the Metropolitan Body Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a company which International Harvester would later purchase.

Bunny Bread Truck - Lewis Bakeries - Madison, Tenn. 2007. This truck appears to be about two feet longer that the other Bunny trucks in the area. It also has different rear doors and has a sliding driver's door.
I built something!
Two years ago I was asked (as usual) if I have a SWAT van that could be used in a potential Arkham set. I didn’t have one then (or did I?) but 30 minutes later I did.
Back then I figured that if it won’t be used, then I can always sneak it into something else as a taco truck or a TV van, whatever, but it went thru.
The build is pretty straightforward except for the front, that utilizes an odd combo of plates and brackets built in every direction on a footprint of a 2x2 brick to create the distinctive Chevy Stepvan headlight assemblies with it’s eyebrow turnsignals. No doors, as these things usually drive open, and since the doors are of sliding type, I don’t think it’s feasible in this scale.
As usual, I built it in different colors, and different lenghts, but the final product is pretty close to my initial sketch.
This is also the set where I was allowed to wish for an element for the first time ever in my career here at LEGO, and I went for a tyre that I needed for years now.
It’s a real gamechanger for me, and you’ll find that tyre from September 12th in the 76300 Arkham set.

292/3-speed. Originally a Baltimore Sun delivery truck, then used by the company whose name is still painted on the side. Lost in the 50s Cruise Night, Marley Station Mall, Glen Burnie, MD, October 27, 2012.
Photographed in rural British Columbia. This pickup has Warn Locking Hubs in front and a neat custom grille guard. (Back in the days when bullbars or grille guards were installed because they were needed by working men while driving in rough off-road areas and were not just status symbols on new trucks or suv's like they are now). I'm surprised that this truck is badged as a Ford and not a Mercury considering that I photographed it in Canada.
>>>Timothy McMahon<<<This is a 1956, originally from CT it was a plumbers truck. When he retired in the mid 70s he converted it to a motor home. He and was wife drove it to florida. It has a 235 with an updraft carter bb1 .
The rust continues to win and I think the momentum/advantage is slipping away from the truck at this point
