Just beyond the slump block is a set of steps and a wooden bridge that crosses the stream running along the floor of the gorge.
Dovedale in Derbyshire and the Peak District, is owned by the National Trust and is farmed with many sheep on the rocky slopes and in the woods. It is little more than 3 miles distance between Thorpe to the south of the dale and Milldale in the north with the famous part being the wooded ravine between the stepping stones, a short distance from the car park at the front of Thorpe Cloud and the cave like Dove Holes.
The Spanish Steps are so named because the square they lead down (Piazza di Spagna, or the Spanish Square) to houses the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See.
It's one of the most famous squares/stairs in Rome, made famous by the movie, Roman Holiday starring none other than Audrey Hepburn
The steps are really called Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti in Italian as they lead up to the Church of Trinità dei Monti.
The Tarr Steps are a Medieval clapper bridge across the River Barle on Exmoor, dating from approx 1000BC
