“The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for want of an understanding ear.”

From a very enjoyable afternoon of chasing high desert vistas and thunderstorms in Mono County, Eastern California, July, 2014. B&W conversion with MacPhun Tonality.
This was going to be a homage to From a Buick 8, not sure if it works for me now. here it is anyway.

Out of a Stephen King novel? Well yes..actually it's out of the novella "In The Tall Grass". This is the church that was erected for the movie. I had the opportunity to speak with a couple people from the production company and the Location Manager had some interesting stories already.

Finally paid a visit to this Frank Lloyd Wright icon, in between baseball games this summer. Well worth the visit!

You've Always Been The Caretaker

"A lot of us grow up and we grow out of
the literal interpretation that we get when we're children,
but we bear the scars all our life.
Whether they're scars of beauty or scars of ugliness,
it's pretty much in the eye of the beholder."
~ Stephen King ~
Taken at Gold Reef City, Johannesburg, the front of this ride reminded me of the book and mini-series “It” by Stephen King.
Ever since seeing the movie The Shining, I can't look at an empty hotel hallway the same way. Happy Halloween.

Libby and I wish to thank you all, for being supportive during a certain situation this week. I have discovered the true meaning of FlickR.
You know the storys of Stephen King? I love them. There was a time I could not stop reading any new book from him until I finished it. One special story tells something about our everyday live. It's called Needful Things (have a look at the wikipedia for details). We all know the offers which promiss to have "Needful Things".
This is more a reminder for me than to you: Keep track of what you need. There is more in life than to possess. It's better to know. To have friends.
Thank you for beeing with me. For visiting, viewing, contributing. It's an honor for me.
Have a great day!!

tribute to stephen king
it's about time i made a picture inspired on one of my favorite books ever.
i can't explain in a few words all the reasons why i love stephen king so, long story short, he's a genius and i love him.
i had done another version of this shot with six cookies, displaying all the gruesome things that come out of them in the novel, but it was way too gross, so i decided not to post it.
by the way, they've made a movie based on that stunning novel. it sucks, but it makes this photo fit for "my movies" series
my movies #53
