This was shot at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. This is where Stephen King got the inspiration for his book The Shining. Around the corner to the right at the bottom of the banister is room 217 where King and his wife Tabitha stayed October 30, 1974. The hotel was closing for the season and King and his wife were the only guests in the 140 room hotel that evening.

I didn't post too many "Hallowe'en" themed photos this season. In fact, I didn't even make my annual trip to Olvera Street in Downtown Los Angeles to add another skull to my "Calaveras Collection."
Here is a photo of famous horror author Stephen King's house, noted to be the second most photographed house in America (after Graceland in Memphis Tennessee, the home of Elvis Presley).
When I visited Maine in the Fall of 2019, my plane landed in Bangor, I picked up my rental car, and within an hour I was standing out in front of what is now officially the "Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation" a writer's retreat, not a residence where King actually sits down in front of his computer and turns out one of his million novels.
I used the Aurora HDR program heavily on the processing here. Although since it's past Hallowe'en now, I brightened the image up rather than darkened it so it looks more "spooky".

There were a lot of red balloons and scary clowns at the Zombie Walk today, probably due to the new release of the Stephen King movie "It".

Closed businesses along the main street of struggling May,OK.The town was the hometown of one of Stephen King's characters in his popular novel, "The Stand"....
On W. Broadway in Bangor, Me. One of the first places I photographed on my recent New England vacation.
This image captures the State Route 89 Bridge over Lake Britton in Shasta County California, USA in monochrome infrared. The bridge spans almost 600 total feet, was built in 1938, and recently underwent a major refurbishment. I like the way the surrounding woods frame this porition of the bridge and also have a visible light color image from this vantage with the oaks, bare here, in fall colors. Very near where I stood to take this photo is the railroad trestle a young Will Wheaton and his fellow child actors ran across in the classic movie Stand By Me.
