Twenty-five students from the Milton Hershey School spent the day at Penn State Health, which teamed up with the American Heart Association and Centric Bank to host the first regional STEM Goes Red event, the aim of which was to empower young women to improve heart and brain health through pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

Teams also competed in a STEM Challenge, racing against the clock and each other to solve science and math puzzles to break several locks on boxes filled with treats.
A stem cell can be defined by two specific characteristics:

2.Capability to differentiate into any tissue type and cell line in the body.
