He is the second calf of the 13 calves that have been born on the farm this year. He got his name when he was two days old when he had popped through the fence and when we were trying to get him back on the right side, he ran up and down the fence like a wild bull.

Despite my first interaction with this guy, he is a very cute and quite calf. When his mum leaves him he to go graze, he stays.

He is always eating and he is a mumma's boy.

Originally manufactured in Japan, the Honda prelude was always quite an innovative machine. One of the later models was the first to have four-wheel steering.

Captured by mounting my Canon upside-down to the inside of the windscreen of my car using a suction cup gadget holder. It had a screw mount for a GoPro or similar that fitted the tripod mount on the EOS. I then trailed a remote release to the drivers side which I could operate safely whilst keeping both hands on the steering wheel. The camera set up was full manual with bulb exposure. White balance was set to cloudy to capture the orange and yellow motorway lights accurately.

Straight out of camera other than a little contrast tweak.

This spider apparently got into my car while I was parked under a tree with the windows cracked. It jumped onto the steering wheel while I was driving, giving me a bit of a start. I recovered and pulled over to capture it for a photo session later. Happy 27th of Arachtober!

Found old photos. Being unorganized with my photography does have its perks. They're few, but they're there. Like Christmas, it is. Happy weekend, all.

Special:

- Many people believe the VOLVO 244 and 245 with Volkswagen D24-engine was VOLVO’s first diesel car, but actually it wasn’t.

- In 1965 the Månson-company had the idea to replace the B18-engine of the P210 DUETT with a 4-cilinder Perkins diesel-engine and try to sell them in series, needed for the heavy work like quarries, mining industry or forestry.

- Replacing the B18-engine with a Perkins-diesel wasn't easy. The transmission needed adjustments, the exhaust needed modifications, engine mounts and supports were also different and many other modications needed to be done before the engine was installed properly.

- The engine itself wasn’t very cheap so it was an expensive job. So the Perkins-project on the DUETT wasn’t a success.

- Malte Månson tried to convince Volvo to use a Perkins diesel-engine in the VOLVO 144 but that project was stopped after just one 144 Diesel-engined prototype.

- The diesel-equipped DUETT was officially not sold by VOLVO but VOLVO didn’t forbid Malte Månson AB to sell the DUETT’s with the Perkins-diesels.

- This P210 Diesel is the only one in The Netherlands and it is believed that it is the only one in the world with an original Perkins 4.108 Diesel engine. Other restored DUETT’s have different engines, like Renault- or BMW-diesels.

- The name DUETT stands for use at work as for leisure time, two cars in one: duet.

Bulldogging or Steer wrestling can be a bit of a challenge in terms of getting the players all in. Here the hazer on the outside keeps the steer in line, the cowboy comes off his horse and wrestles the steer to the ground. All 4 hooves down mark the end of the timed event. There are typically 8 events in an officially sanctioned rodeo - I'll probably show you a few more from my night out.

Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.

May as well throw these old suckers on for shits-n-giggles. Since I'm doing the car thing.

This cowboy went down for the capture but the calf didn't maintain his speed. The cowboy overshot the calf and hit the dirt. Score for the Calf...!

I can't say I enjoy seeing these animals yanked and jerked and then "body-slammed" to the ground and "hog-tied".

To me, this event is a little too rough on the animals....

This guy's not having a good Tuesday. Although he's in Walt Disney World, so already it's better for him than most of us! Pirates of the Caribbean is a notoriously difficult ride to photography. The combination of darkness and very strongly colored show lighting makes it very challenging. But, armed with a good camera and a fast lens and it's doable! Have you ever taken any photos that you liked on PotC?

Was wondering through a suburb in Shanghai when this chap passed, I often wonder who he was and what he was doing in a city with 20 million others.
