I was in the open carriage -in the back ! Hanging out of the window , taking photos. The track twists and turns , for 25 miles.
THE WELSH HIGHLAND RAILWAY -- from Caernarfon to Porthmadoc., North Wales
The Welsh Highland Railway (WHR) is a 25-mile (40.2 km) long restored narrow gauge heritage railway, in the Welsh county of Gwynedd, operating from Caernarfon to Porthmadog, and passing through a number of popular tourist destinations including Beddgelert and the Aberglaslyn Pass. At Porthmadog it connects with the Ffestiniog Railway and to the short Welsh Highland Heritage Railway.[a] In Porthmadog it uses the United Kingdom's only mixed gauge flat rail crossing.

Die Lok wurde 1943 unter der Fabriknummer 11229 bei Arnold Jung Lokomotivfabrik GmbH, Jungenthal, Kirchen a.d. Sieg gebaut.
An 0-8-0 Locomotive, Vintage Steam from approximately 1908.
Built by Montreal Locomotive ??
Now sits at Sandon British Columbia which is just east of New Denver on Highway 31a
Hopefully a candidate for restoration some day.
The low cloud which has blanketed the fells for much of the day is just beginning to break up as the southbound Cumbrian Ranger charter train passes Birkett Common. Class A4 Bittern, making a rare appearance on the Settle to Carlisle line, is in fine form.

Hier fahren wir auf der "Goerzbahn", einem Stück Industriebahn. Die Gleise führen direkt an der Starße entlang.
The driver of this JS 2-8-2 sits at his controls awaiting coal and water to be loaded at Nanzhan yards.
His face seems to me to tell the story of living and working in communist China as did his clothing.
Such a nice guy quiet and guarded, curious but disciplined.

This is my first model of a British locomotive that isn't modeled off of a preserved example, which I don't see done very often.
The decision to make this particular model was rather spontaneous...I hadn't made a proper locomotive model in some time, and I got tired of choosing and taking too long, and I just decided to try this one out. The goal was a regular suburban NE tank engine that made it into BR days. A pretty simple guideline. This does mean that when the model is complete, it will be decked out in a handsome BR-lined black livery.
Seeing as I'm so close to finishing the model, I thought I might as well finish it and share it. Need to work on cab detailing then the rear bunker.

Dit jaar ben ik weer met mijn beide zonen en mijn vader naar Terug naar Toen van de VSM geweest. En natuurlijk stonden er natuurlijk weer veel locs onder stoom. Dit jaar was de 23 023 van de SSN weer te gast en werd er een line-up van de drie rijvaardige 23ers georganiseerd. De gebruikelijke goederentreinen tussen Beekbergen en Apeldoorn reden dit jaar alleen in de ochtend. Dus daar lag in de ochtend de focus op. In de middag werd vooral rondom Loenen doorgebracht. Het was weer een schitterend spektakel met prachtig weer.
Dieses Jahr bin ich mit meinen beiden Söhnen und mein Vater nach Zurück nach Damals der VSM gefahren. Und natürlich waren wieder viele Loks unter Dampf. In diesem Jahr war der 23 023 der SSN zu Gast und eine Aufstellung der drei fahrenden 23er wurde organisiert. Die üblichen Dampf Güterzüge zwischen Beekbergen und Apeldoorn liefen dieses Jahr nur am Morgen. Das war der Fokus am Morgen. Am Nachmittag wurde hauptsächlich um Loenen herum verbracht. Es war wieder ein großartiges Spektakel mit schönem Wetter.
This year my both sons, my father and I went the event "Terug naar Toen (Back to then) by the VSM. And of course, many locs were under steam again. This year the SSN's 23 023 was guest locomotive and a line-up of the three running 23ers was organized. The usual steam goods trains between Beekbergen and Apeldoorn were only running in the morning this year. So that was the focus for the morning. In the afternoon we mainly spend our time around Loenen. Again it was a magnificent spectacle with beautiful weather.

Elk jaar organiseert de Stoomtrein Katwijk-Leiden de Smalspoor Modelbouw Dagen. Tijdens deze dagen staat smalspoor in model centraal. Daarnaast rijden natuurlijk de reguliere stoom en dieseltreinen hun ritjes, dus is er meer dan genoeg te zien.
Every year the Stoomtrein Katwijk-Leiden organizes the event " Narrow gauge Model lay-out days". During these days several lay-outs in narrow gauge in model are displayed. next to this, the regular steam and diesel trains are running, so there is enough to see.
Die Stoomtrein Katwijk-Leiden organisiert jedes Jahr die Schmallspur Model tage. Die Modell Eisenbahnen mit schmaler Spurweite spielen in diesen Tagen eine zentrale Rolle. Außerdem fahren regelmäßig Dampf- und Dieselzüge, sodass es mehr als genug zu sehen gibt.
In Wolsztyn rijden nog dagelijks met stoom getrokken treinen naar Leszno of Poznan. Door de onzekere toekomst van de stoomtractie en de moderniseringsplannen voor de spoorlijn, ben ik in de zomer van 2021 naar Polen gegaan. De meest fotogenieke trein is de ochtendtrein naar Leszno die op alle werkdagen om 6 uur vertrekt uit Wolsztyn. Ondanks dat de trein vooral kleine dorpjes aandoet zit de trein aan het einde van de rit goed vol met vooral scholieren. Op de foto is de Ol49-69 (eigenlijk Ol49-99) zojuist vertrokken uit Nowa Wieś Mochy en passeert één van de twee seinhuizen. Zodra de seinhuiswachter het vertreksein weer op onveilig heeft gezet zal hij naar buiten lopen om de overweg weer open te draaien. Een deel van de spoorlijn is recent uitgerust met lichtseinen dus het is een kwestie van tijd voordat dit prachtige fotopunt is verdwenen...
The steam hauled passenger trains from Wolsztyn to Leszno or Poznan are still running although the future is very uncertain. The most photogenic train is the morning train to Leszno, which departs Wolsztyn at 6am on all weekdays. Despite the fact that the train mainly stops at small villages, at the end of the ride the train is well packed with mainly students. In the photo the Ol49-69 (actually Ol49-99) has just left Nowa Wieś Mochy and passes one of the two signal boxes. Part of the railwayline has recently been fitted with modern light signals, so it is only a matter of time before this beautiful scene is gone...
Ivatt class 4 steam locomotive 43106 "The Flying Pig" on Oldbury Viaduct near Bridgnorth on the Severn Valley Railway on Sunday October 27th 2019. This was the 11.50 a.m. train from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster. In the background is the wonderful historic Daniel's Mill water wheel.
BR standard class locomotive 75069 on the Severn Valley Railway on Sunday 2nd March 2025. This was the 11.15 a.m train to Kidderminster from Hampton Loade. It is pictured approaching Bewdley Tunnel near the Safari Park on a bright and sunny day with no clouds.
Something different, but I know one or two of my dear friends will love it...
The "Royal Scot" steaming through my home town earlier today...
..and that's about the best whistle I've ever received...!! I must put my legs away when out in public..😉😅💋💋💃
