The Spartan women's basketball team earned their second-straight win on a 63-45 runaway victory over Lancaster Bible on Tuesday night at Wolf Gym. The Spartans handed the Chargers their first loss of the season as LBC scored a season-low and York established a new season-high for points. Bradi Zumbrum led all players in points (22) and rebounds (14) in her first double-double performance of the season. The format of last year’s highly successful July4York presented by Traditions Bank was back by popular demand, and organizers said the Independence Day celebration was even more bang for the zero bucks.
Traditions Bank, presenting sponsor of July4York, and the York Revolution provided York’s biggest July 4 party featuring plenty of FREE fun before and after the Revs’ 4:30 p.m. game against the Charleston Dirty Birds. The game itself, meanwhile, included a few extra surprises, making that day at WellSpan Park a true daylong celebration of the country’s birthday.

The Reading Royals, proud affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, fell to the Adirondack Thunder, 3-2, Friday, Mar. 18 at Santander Arena. Royals goaltender Pat Nagle saved 11 of 14 shots while Thunder goalie Brandon Kasel saved 30 of 32 shots. Orange Loop Rock Festival was slated to be an outdoor event normally held outside around the streets in Atlantic City that coincided with the orange properties on the board game Monoply. This year the festival was was bound for the grounds that surrounded the Showboat Hotel. Because of weather reports of impending rain, the festival was moved inside to the Bourbon Room and the Beast Stage next door on the second floor of the hotel.
The three-day event included live performances, meet & greets, vendors, midget wrestling, exclusive after-parties and so much more.

Megan Moroney, despite the delay because of lightning in the middle of her set, and Tyler Hubbard lit up the Bobcat stage at the York State Fair on Friday night, drawing in hordes of enthusiastic fans. The dynamic duo both put on a captivating performance that had the crowd jumping to their feet and singing along to every song. With their spirited tunes and magnetic stage presence, Moroney and Hubbard delivered an unforgettable concert experience that left everyone wanting more. The York State Fair proved to be the perfect setting for this electric show, providing a lively and energetic atmosphere that perfectly complemented the high-octane performance.

Just a week away from the start of the York State Fair at the York Expo Center in York, PA, and preparations are already well underway. Plus, the fair is back to full capacity without any restrictions this year after being cancelled last year because of Covid-19 restrictions place on the state of Pennsylvania by Governor Tom Wolf. The gates will open for the first time in almost year and a half at 11am on Friday July 23rd. The fair which was originally held in September was to open last year in July of 2020 under much controversy for changing the fair to a mid summer event than a early fall date. The YMCA Turkey Trot 5K race has become a Thanksgiving Day tradition for those living in or visiting York County. For the past 25 years, the race has grown to become much more than a running race. The 26th Annual run/walk race kicked off on Market Street around 9am Thanksgiving day with the usual bike riding turkey. It has become a signature event within York, one that exemplifies the Y mission of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Each year, families and friends gather, some in crazy turkey attire and others in matching team T-shirts. Participants include moms/dads with strollers, grandparents with grandkids, cousins, best-friends, sports teams, wedding parties and avid runners. Initially, the Turkey Trot was developed as a sporting event. But overtime, the community viewed the race as a holiday kick-off -- a way to perhaps “earn” seconds at Thanksgiving dinner as well as a heaping piece of pumpkin pie! On the final night of live entertainment on the Bobcat Stage, at the York State Fair, two local groups who got there start playing local bars and festivals returned home to entertain the crowd who had gathered in front of the stage, and in the grandstand. Small Town Titans are a American rock n' roll power trio from York, P who love to constantly create, as well as play live who took to the stage first. Followed by Halestorm, a band that started in Red Lion 1997, manages a to create a sound that pumps a person up even as it pushes them forward and gives them a chance to enjoy something new. Melky Mesa set a franchise record for career RBI on a go-ahead single in the fifth that proved to be the difference as the York Revolution edged the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, 5-4 on Saturday night at PeoplesBank Park. Sam Burton made his first start with the Revs since 2019 on Saturday and the York bullpen shined with a scoreless night over a combined 5.1 innings as the Revs took home back-to-back victories for the first time since August 24-25 against the playoff bound Crabs. It must have been the extra cheering going on in the stands and between innings by local high school cheerleading groups that helped the Rev's secure the win.

In case you missed it most of Day 1's Rawchella IV performers were from out of town yet, and it was heard how beautiful OUR city was or how fun OUR city was. Rawchella IV has grown from a single day of hip hop, rap, and R & B music to current two day festival. The festival at Kiwanis Lake in York, PA also inludes food and merchandise vendors for those looking for some good eats or unique items. One of the many artist gracing the stage was Keymarie McKinstry, making the trip all the way from Detroit to perform here & network. Big thanks to Fred Walker Ecko MrTrendsetter for stopping by showing some love & as always the community of York City for another dope night. 11am they are it again Saturday with Neg Mawon DJ, more vocal artist, and your favorite local vendors for Day 2 this 1 is for York City.

After a couple of weeks of shows in the midwest and a number of locations along the east coast, the cast and crew of The Masked Singer Tour is getting ready to bring the explosive singing and dancing show to the southern states. While all of your favorite characters such as Pepper, Queen of Hearts, Robot, Taco, Alien, Baby, Monster and Thingamabob make an appearance, the interactive show hosted by Natasha Bedingfield, got the audience involved with clapping and singing along. The show kept the audience wondering, by offering clues to who the mystery guest would be unmasked. Music included songs like "Happy" by Pharrell Williams to "Strangers in the Night" by Frank Sinatra. A intermission was provided for guest to grab another drink or snack during the approxiametly 2 hr long show. If the popularity of the show was any indication at the magnificent Capital One Hall in Tyson, Virginia the rest of the tour should be a success and at all possibility make a point to see this live show.

While baseball may have been idol at PeoplesBank Park over Labor Day weekend, Smash Entertainment completed a successful community event. Those that attended the R&B Festival Saturday night were treated to a Grand Slam of entertainers. Headlining the Allstar Festival was Donell Jones and RL.

York County Youth Football Association in Pennsylvania kicked off the season with a few games this past Sunday and with beautiful weather, we got out to one of the local games. West York Bulldogs traveled a short distance to Noonan Field where the host team, York Boys Club Raiders beat the them 24-7. After a scoreless first quarter, the Raider got on the scoreboard with some impressive run TD's from Johnny Vellon who scored in the second and third period, while Ali Johnson Jr. capped off the fourth quarter with two TD runs himself.

The YMCA Turkey Trot 5K race has become a Thanksgiving Day tradition for those living in or visiting York County. For the past 25 years, the race has grown to become much more than a running race. The 26th Annual run/walk race kicked off on Market Street around 9am Thanksgiving day with the usual bike riding turkey. It has become a signature event within York, one that exemplifies the Y mission of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Each year, families and friends gather, some in crazy turkey attire and others in matching team T-shirts. Participants include moms/dads with strollers, grandparents with grandkids, cousins, best-friends, sports teams, wedding parties and avid runners. Initially, the Turkey Trot was developed as a sporting event. But overtime, the community viewed the race as a holiday kick-off -- a way to perhaps “earn” seconds at Thanksgiving dinner as well as a heaping piece of pumpkin pie! Team earns 5th straight Championship
The York Adult Flag Football Competition League playoffs came to a thrilling conclusion Sunday, as the Zombeez emerged victorious over OTGE and winning the title for the 5th year in a row. Despite an early loss, and then starting from the losers bracket, the Zombeez fought hard and defeated their opponents twice to claim the championship. The game was intense and action-packed, with both teams giving it their all. Ultimately, it was Zombeez's skill and determination that prevailed, securing them the coveted title. The players and fans alike were left buzzing with excitement and satisfaction after an unforgettable playoff.

The opening week of the district football postseason didn't disappoint. The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association District III got under way Friday night with Class 5A thru 1A. LockedIN Magazine photographer Rick "Beetle" Bailey of @bbphotographer58 and @MyMidAtlantic was at Dover Area High School for the match up between visiting #10 Garden Spot Spartans take on the #7 Dover Eagles to keep our fans LockedIN. Dover, which saw the YAIAA's most dramatic turnaround from last season to now, made sure it would be around for another week with a win against Garden Spot 40 - 21.

If you do not live on the east or west coast and the temps soar into the 90's, what do you do? You grab your favorite floatation device, a couple of friends, drinks, snacks, and head to the nearest creek. It seems that a lot of folks around this area already have those items at there disposal, and all they needed was a reason. Thus the event "Swatty Float" was created by Triston Vinson and Shaun Caraby that was held to celebrate Independence Day weekend on Sunday July 5th, 2020. Three fields are set up and ready for action in the YAFFL, which has two leagues competiting for the playoffs and championships, one Recreation and the other is the Competition league.
