This was one of many home made posters that was seen during the Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament demonstration on Parliament Hill (Ottawa), January 23, 2010.

An estimated 7,500 people were on the hill according to an RCMP officer.

Speakers included Jack Layton (leader of Canada's New Democratic Party) and Michael Ignatieff (leader of the Liberal party of Canada).

The demonstration was to protest the proroguing of the Parliament Canada by the prime minister, Stephen Harper, on December 30, 2009. This is the second time in as many years that parliament has been prorogued by Stephen Harper.

Matthiessen State Park is an Illinois state park located a few miles south of the more famous Starved Rock State Park. The main entrances to both parks are located on Illinois State Route 178.

The park is near Oglesby, in LaSalle County, Illinois, USA. It is named for Frederick William Matthiessen, who had originally owned the property and managed it as a private park. The area was originally referred to as Deer Park, in reference to the large deer population. The park was donated to Illinois following Matthiessen's death, and was renamed in his honor in 1943. The name Deer Park Dells remains a nickname among locals.

The park is centered around a stream that flows from Matthiessen Lake to the Vermilion River. The stream has cut partway through the sandstone layers, leaving interesting rock formations and drops. The Upper Dells begin at Matthiessen Lake with the Lake Falls, which drop into the canyon below, and continue downstream to the 45-foot-tall (14 m) Cascade Falls where the Lower Dells begin.

This big beast walked right in front of my econobox rental car. He was not more than ten feet from my bumper! The top of his back was well over six feet.

I love Antelope State Park and Utah!

Monochromatic street signs kind of defeat the whole purpose. I'd imagine once dusk hits, it might as well not be there at all.

We've visited the park several times, but finally took the short hike up to the falls.

One summer, when I was young, my mother took some classes at MSU to enhance her teaching certificate. A few times, she dropped my brother and me off at Michigan State University Museum while she went to her class. I developed a love and respect for museums from this, and I have always remembered it fondly. I made a point of visiting it when I was back for my father's ninetieth birthday party and, y'know what, it really is a great museum which takes its mandate to educate seriously.

Thank you, Mom. Dropping me here was the act of a terrific parent.

It was a miserable day in Ann Arbor, but the clouds cleared briefly, and I managed to snap off a few shots of the State Theatre sign. I used to love the State Theatre. The nostalgic charm of the place made it such an enjoyable college spot. Still, its bright yellow marquis brings back my college days.

The last time I was here, my friend was running the concession stand and let me in for free. But the joke was on me. The projector died.

Goat keepers in the western regions of the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh have reared ruminants for hundreds of years, with virtually all households owning up to five goats on average. However, many such goat keepers have no understanding of such illnesses affecting goats as Peste de Petits Ruminants (PPR) or goat plague that afflict their herds, accepting the consequent losses as God’s act.

There are two barriers to addressing these losses. First – a lack of awareness of the disease and vaccine, and second – difficulties in gaining access to animal health products and services in remote areas. Both need to be overcome in order to deliver a robust grassroots disease prevention and treatment service that benefits backyard goat keepers and smallholder farmers.

Local NGO, Sharif Gramodyog Vikas Kendra (Sharif Rural Development Centre), with support from non-profit company, Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicines (GALVmed), has recently completed a project that addressed some of the challenges faced in delivering such a service and produced solutions that will potentially bridge the gap.

Our land , our homes are places that are much more than dirt under our feet or roof over our heads. They are the backdrop to our lives where we raise our families, rejuvenate our bodies, minds, and souls. Our spaces are sacred, and they should resonate and encourage health and well-being. This looks like spaces that have incorporated biophilic design and non-toxic materials . we are living in an era of degeneration driven by extraction and destruction .for bringing out a change in a large scale we have to first focus on our own home .LATTITUDE rebuilds recreates and thrives towards sustainability moving from degradation to regeneration by creating a new story through each new natural building. The recognition of community is what separates regenerative real-e-state from mainstream sustainable rea;-e-state. chooselatitude.com/.
