Voor de ingang van Algemene Zaken, stond een jonge vrouw op een kruk met ontbloot bovenlijf terwijl ze haar borsten met viltstiften aan het roodkleuren was. Niemand wist wat hier gebeurde, na enig rondvragen zei iemand: "vraag het haar zelf maar". Dus dat deed ik. "Ik maak een statement" zei ze. Waarover, waartegen, waarom? "Een radicaal statement" zei ze. Maar ondertussen kwamen 2 politieagenten die haar sommeerden de borsten te bedekken en mee te komen naar.... nog onbekend.
Iemand vroeg mijn kaartje (heb ik altijd bij me) want ze wilden deze foto's wel hebben. Ik hoor later wel waarover dit radicale statement ging.

For the pahmphlet i was stuck by this sentence within the assignment "a radical message in a radical way." So i first thought about what a radical way was. I believe this is when it's unerasable. So i was thinking about writing with lipstick on some white walls in the school and what not. Then it developped in being an unerasable image in peoples minds. Or maybe what wpuld.ignite the most reaction.
As i did a naked performance once in school, and some were kind of crossed by that. And i knew that my breasts evoked this same kind of reaction on people, both on social media, in public and even under a shirt without bra, i wanted to do something with the ridicoulousness of this given. Especially nipples being censured as breasts are over sexualized and the increasing prudishness of society, which is especially taken out on female bodies, i wanted to question the radicality of my flesh. Is this radical enough for you? Is it radical at all? Police sure did thought so.
With writing variations of this question on my breats until covered, I state that breasts shouldn't be so radical - which apparently was quite a radical message an sich.

How could I resist?
We all know that I love a statement. And I’d like to wear booties (or boots) all year round. A statement bootie is both of my favorite things.
In 2008, I embraced the statement bootie trend by buying an electric blue pair from the Sigerson Morrison for Target collection. Ten years later, I’m still a sucker for a statement bootie.
Jacket, XOXO (thrifted). Sweater, Forever 21 (thrifted). Dress, Banana Republic (consignment). Booties, Jeffrey Campbell. Necklace, vintage gift.
Commanding its position just behind the seafront and a stone’s throw from the Cours Saleya, the Opéra de Nice is one of the Riviera’s great cultural statements — a theatrical façade worthy of the dramas within.
The present building dates from 1885, following a devastating fire that destroyed the earlier theatre (originally inaugurated in 1776). The reconstruction was entrusted to architect François Aune, who created an opulent neo-classical exterior infused with Second Empire grandeur — entirely in keeping with Nice’s late-19th-century transformation from Savoyard port to fashionable winter resort of European aristocracy.
The façade is a lesson in symmetry and ornamentation:
•A central loggia supported by paired Corinthian columns in warm pink marble
•Rich sculptural decoration including busts of composers
•Two pavilion-like corner sections crowned with elaborate roof detailing
•A row of statues along the roofline, allegorical figures presiding over the arts
The iron-and-glass entrance canopy reflects the period’s fascination with industrial materials married to classical form — practical elegance for opera-goers arriving by carriage (and later motorcar).
Historically, the theatre has hosted an impressive roll call: Berlioz conducted here; Massenet and Saint-Saëns saw works performed; and during the Belle Époque the house became a glittering winter-season destination for Europe’s elite. Today it remains home to opera, ballet and symphonic programming, seating roughly 1,000 in an Italian-style auditorium of gilded tiers and velvet intimacy.

Opéra de Nice – Place du Théâtre
Situé à proximité immédiate du Cours Saleya et de la Promenade des Anglais, l’Opéra de Nice est l’un des monuments culturels majeurs de la ville.
Le bâtiment actuel, inauguré en 1885 après l’incendie de l’ancien théâtre (fondé en 1776), fut conçu par l’architecte François Aune. Son architecture néoclassique, enrichie d’influences Second Empire, reflète l’âge d’or de Nice à la Belle Époque, lorsque la ville attirait l’aristocratie européenne durant la saison hivernale.

The leggings are back
That didn’t take long! Honestly, February is a little early to stop wearing leggings.
There are statement jewelry and statement tees and now statement legs!
Sweater, thrifted. Jeans, Hollister (thrifted). Leggings, CFR. Boots, Seychelles. Bag, Fossil.
WEEK 19 – Southaven Gordmans Liquidates Again (VIII)
For closure purposes – that is, resolution closure, not store closure! – I couldn’t resist peeking in the windows and getting a few shots of the now-abandoned Gordmans. Here along the right-side wall of the vestibule we see that same mission statement poster I mentioned a few descriptions back once again fully visible to the public, for the first time in years, albeit with the frame looking to be in the worst shape it’s ever been in. Also, the trash can in the vestibule appears not to have been emptied before the doors were locked – gross – and beyond the vestibule, we see that all the lights in the main salesfloor were left on, with all the department signs as well as many carts and fixtures still left in place, too. I guess what didn’t sell was simply left behind…

This dominant male stag was controlling a large group of females during last years red-deer rut and he wanted everyone to know it!
Stags bellow to impress females and intimidate rivals and the sound can carry for miles. It is an eery thing to wake up to in the morning that's for sure!

Mission Statement of a feminine Tgirl
I really am happiest when I'm wearing a lovely feminine dress, nylons and high heels. Underneath all of that I always wear pretty lingerie, I love to be fully made up, have my hair nice and wear jewellery and perfume. Its a fundamental part of who I am, as a transgender woman. I no longer find this strange, I accept it and live it to the full.

Hard to beat that!
Post storm report:
We got our share of rain overnight but the gusty winds to at least 45 mph was the star of the show scattering anything that wasn`t secured.
As much as 4 inches by tomorrow night.
Our snowblower is ready to do battle.
This was later updated to 3-5 inches Sunday evening.
This female cardinal seems very well prepared for winter, with her downey breast feathers fluffed up for warmth, and her water-proof wing and back feathers to keep her dry.
And she provides a very tasteful, understated splash of color in an otherwise monochromatic winter scene on a gray, drizzly day.
I suspect as soon as she has had enough to eat at the feeder, she and her mate will find a more secluded place protected from the wind and rain for a little grooming and spooning...
PC Thornby attends - according to this images caption - the turning on of the first traffic lights in Glossop. The event seems to have been exciting enough to draw quite a crowd.
The photograph was taken by PC Buxton who was a wartime reserve constable with the Glossop Borough Police from 1941 to 1944 when he was released for ‘Industrial Work of National Importance’ by the force’s Chief Constable.
He seems to have retuned to policing in the post war years.
The Glossop Borough Police area became part of Derbyshire Constabulary in 1947.
