The State House is in the Greek Revival style. It is approximately 180 feet (55 m) tall. Architect John R. Niernsee. Built in 1855.
Clear Lake - Iowa
It is a cool sunny Labor Day weekend at the lake, but on this Sunday some still enjoyed the beach and a swim. Puffy clouds, a slight breeze from the northeast and temps in the low 70's.
It is a very busy day at and on the lake, with kids, parents and poodles. All enjoying the final days of summer!

This wonderful old barn is actually made of stone which is uncommon even tho stones are VERY plentiful around here! This view is from across the river, so is the rear end of the building.
The very dark and ghostly looking Mountain State Carbon coke plant reflects across the Ohio River as the southern sky opens up. MSC was shut down in April of 2022 in the growing availability of clean steel making.

In 1960, Boston National Historic Sites Commission declares Old State House the most important public building built in America prior to the Declaration of Independence.
Wheeling's 218 train from Brewster to Rook yard enters Pennsylvania at aptly named State Line tunnel.

I192 holds up two trains on the Nickel Plate at State Line Junction. I192's power has just crossed into the Indiana while both NS trains sit across the state line in Illinois.
The beautiful Glade Creek Grist Mill at Babcock State Park in West Virginia. I was really hoping for a wintry scene. It was snowing heavily as I drove along I 64, but as I approached the state park the skies cleared.
