#9 on explore (www.flickr.com/explore/2023/11/08)
The Blue Supermoon on the 30th August started being visible just on the side of the Sanctuary of Christ the King (“Cristo-Rei”), located on the south bank of the Tagus River. After a few minutes it was precisely located behind the statue.
This shot was taken from the north bank (Lisbon) at a distance of about 4km.
I had unsuccessfully tried to take this shot a few years ago. This time it worked! 😊

It's almost summer in the Philippines and I'm so excited! It's a tropical country so it's warm all year but it's definitely getting warmer lately! I'm starting to feel the summer vibes.
Metroline West MCV EvoSeti VMH2565 (LA68DXC) is seen on York Road, Uxbridge having just started a trip on route 607 towards White City.
This vehicle was originally part of the batch that operated on route 43 before its electric buses arrived.
Couldn't kick-start the Vino this morning. We were both too tired, and frankly, I think it's embarrassed to go out in public right now. This weekend I'll give it (and me!) a little TLC.. Shame about having to take transit this morning, but nice to have an excuse to walk home again tonight.
The sea seems so much larger down here than at Gosport. At home we have the Isle of Wight blocking "the big view".
It was very difficult finding a place to park so I could take this panorama. Had to walk quite a way to this view point as it is double yellow lines almost everywhere.
The "Scene" setting on the camera that automatically creates the panorama from multiple images seems to have created a rather wonky horizon.
This bird was sitting on a nearby rooftop, when I started to experiment with the 6k photo mode of my G9. When it took of, i got a beautiful series of shots of the liftoff. Here is a merged sample of three. Enjoy!
Starts from last year's seed. below, chickweed, great in salads and pestos.
Finally June garden journal shots!
I don't usually put any of my grandchildren's photo's on social media., However this was a very special moment. " for me"
We may have another keen photographer in the family. To say I am thrilled with his enthusiasm, is an understatement.
I rarely post identifiable "people" photos, for privacy reasons, but because this young girl is probably a young woman now, due to the fact the image is almost 15 years old, I did because I thought it was very cute.
The second start of the day for the PHRF A(1) class at the Screwpile Lighthouse Challenge Regatta last month in Solomons, MD. I have awards tent and party pictures here: www.flickr.com/photos/182790050@N04/

I am a longtime Communications Professional specializing in photography and videography.
Located in the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) region, I shoot real estate, events, fashion, events, news and sports. I have produced many TV commercials and corporate videos, and have a rather long credit list of local (to Southern Maryland) TV shows I have developed, hosted, shot, directed, edited and produced.
I'm interested in hearing from and interacting with serious hobby photographers and professional photogs and videographers, as well as hearing from anyone who wishes to discuss a photo or video project.
Yes I've already started packing for the grid games.
Why?
You see that big black horse?
He's all about organization, schedules, making a list and checking it twice.
We're less than two weeks out from the games, and he's making sure all his favorite brushes, leg wraps and bites are safely stored in the trucks already.
Will say practice is kicking our butts, but we're gonna be ready to give it our all.
See everyone at Evergarden!
Rise up and Salute this Awesome Day...."Dare to Be"
“Dare to Be
When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.
When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.
When times are tough, dare to be tougher.
When love hurts you, dare to love again.
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.
When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.
When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.
Dare to be the best you can –
At all times, Dare to be!”
― Steve Maraboli,
A visit to Start point lighthouse for a sunset shot that didn't materialise like I had hoped. There was plenty of movement in the clouds to grab a long exposure with a 10 stop filter.
The new year starts in Brussels with gigantic fireworks behind the Atomium.
Taken on January 1st 2019 at 00:01 from the 34th floor of the Brusilia Residence in Schaerbeek (Brussels), 4.3 km away (nearly 3 miles).
All my best wishes for 2019!
The Atomium was designed by André Waterkeyn and built for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair.
It stands 102 meters (335 ft) tall.
It has nine steel spheres connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.
