Thirty minute single shot, taken from a great height on the mountains of Crete.

luna creciente+jupiter- via lactea en pupuya

Geminids meteor, Milky Way and Andromeda on the starry night of 13th to 14th December 2017 over Crete.

Thirty minutes single shot of the night sky.

I chose this area of the night sky where the star trails are diverging, while the trails of the Milky Way appear in the background.

This is another photo from a summer trip to the Eastern Sierra. The moon was nearly 50% full and really illuminated the landscape during the long shutter speed exposure.

Bright Blue Moon

A late afternoon walk along the lake shore, found us out just as the sun dropped beyond the distant horizon, setting the sky ablaze with pink, blue and purple highlights.

As the sky got steadily darker the previously innocuous moon appeared as a glowing ball of brilliant white in the sky. Mars was also visible, just another celestiual ball though significantly smaller appeared as a pinhole in the inky blue above; what a beautiful night for a stroll.

Almost dark in Joshua Tree NP, but dark enough to see the Milky Way....

Church under the stars a moonless starlit night.

I named this image Alpine Reflections. Taken at 9000 feet we were able to get above the smoke from all the wildfires. You can actually see a layer of smoke right at the horizon.

And yes, this is true horror...no manipulation :)

The Raseborg castle ruins, situated on a rock by Raseborg stream, are the remainders of a castle that was probably built in the 14th century, when the rock was still surrounded by water.

Battles were fought between Swedish and Danish forces and even pirates over control of the castle in the Middle Ages.

Thanks to everyone for your visit, kind comments and faves! :-)

Greatly appreciated and inspired by you all.

Out at 4:30 am on Keawakapu beach to try and capture the Milky Way. Nine picture pano. Rokinson 24mm f2. The red lights are the windmills on west Maui. The light streak on the right is a shooting star and the bright star by the palms is Venus.

A starry night in the city, it is not the best photo at night taken by me because it was freehand, but if I am looking for a tripod I lose the opportunity to capture the colors of the sky at night, because there are always clouds, that's the price for the tropics.

Midsummer Night Dream

Composition réalisée avec OnOne Photo Raw

The conditions were right clear skies and no moon. The northern lights that night was a bonus. Isle lake Alberta. One single exposure.

Just reprocessed this panoramic image using a few new tricks I learned. The image is a panoramic composite of +/- ten shots taken at Bryce Canyon N.P. in late May-2016. Aperture was 2.8, exposure 20 sec. and ISO-1600. I developed and merged frames on Lightroom and Photoshop. The Milky Way's center began rising at midnight. The light pollution and greenish airglow add to the composition in my opinion. Hope everyone enjoys it.

Cathedrals were far larger than castles. The symbolic meaning and huge importance to medieval society dominated the lives of the rich or peasants. These Cathedrals of the Desert give the same ominous presence and reverence.

Scouting with Royce Bair for some unique and different nightscapes we found this composition. It is 15 vertical shots stitched in Photoshop. Both of the Cathedrals were lit with LLL.

The northern lights were shining the night before. Isle Lake. Made from 5 light frames (captured with a Canon camera) with one dark frame by Starry Landscape Stacker 1.4.3.

It's not really the top of the world, just one of the highest places around here on Perfumo Canyon Road.

Shot back in 2016 on a photo excursion to the nothern part of the valley

There can't be too much drinking, it stops itself...

There is no fence

It's quite far down

It's lots of wave action "down there"

It's a tricky path to come up to the top

And the cliffs are hard

Fancy that

😊

Just my cup of tea
