La animada y compacta isla de Gamla Stan es el casco antiguo de la ciudad, que cuenta con calles adoquinadas y edificios coloridos de los siglos XVII y XVIII. También alberga la catedral medieval de Storkyrkan y el Palacio Real, que es la residencia oficial del rey.
Es un magnífico laberinto de encantadoras calles adoquinadas, avenidas, casas señoriales y plazas de encuentro que fueron tomando forma en el siglo XIII y que reflejan un indiscutible estilo arquitectónico propio del norte de Alemania, ya que fueron alemanes sus primeros habitantes . Es el casco antiguo de Estocolmo y se apoda,"la ciudad entre los puentes". El nombre significa literalmente "La ciudad vieja" , ya que "stan" es una contracción de "staden" o sea"la ciudad". Hasta hace muy poco Gamla Stan se encontraba relativamente abandonada, y muchos de sus edificios históricos fueron demolidos. No obstante, en los últimos veinte años se ha convertido en un lugar turístico, gracias al encanto de su arquitectura de estilo medieval y renacentista
Significa en sueco, casco antiguo o centro histórico, es en realidad el centro urbano original de Estocolmo .Cuesta trabajo imaginarse que el casco antiguo de la ciudad estuviera considerado entre mediados de los siglos XIX y XX, la zona pobre y marginal de Estocolmo , cuando ahora es un lugar de residencia especialmente codiciado. Su origen se remonta al siglo XIII, aunque la mayoría de los edificios datan de entre el 1700 y el 1800. Es un magnífico laberinto de encantadoras calles adoquinadas, casas señoriales y plazas de encuentro . Es la residencia de unas 3.000 personas, además de estar repleto de cafeterías, restaurantes, tiendas de suvenires para turistas, estudios, galerías y museos.

This GHO has been at this barn for several years. It will help the owner check cattle. It usually leaves the window within a minute of me arriving to watch it. It knows I am not Stan.
11x14 watercolor. I started this painting in the Stan Miller workshop that I took last week. It's not finished but I wanted to get a photo before I did the dark background (I'm anticipating a challenge....) Stan doesn't look like this

I was fortunate enough to be able to take a couple of days off on a working trip to Stockholm last week. This is the area of the city known as Gamla Stan, captured through the early morning (and freezing) mist. Thanks for stopping by.
Tecoma stans est une espèce d'arbuste tropical de la famille des Bignoniaceae, interdite de culture en Nouvelle-Calédonie.
L'espèce est considérée comme invasive en Afrique du Sud, en Amérique du Sud, en Asie, en Australie et dans les îles du Pacifique. Originaire du Mexique et des Etats-Unis, elle a été volontairement introduite dans de nombreuses parties du monde pour ses qualités horticoles. Elle présente désormais un danger important pour la biodiversité en entrant en concurrence avec les espèces locales.
Elle représente une telle menace en Nouvelle-Calédonie (la région de Boulouparis est particulièrement infestée), où elle aurait été introduite en 1904, que le Code de l'environnement de la Province Sud interdit son introduction dans la nature, sa production, son transport, son utilisation, son colportage, sa cession, sa mise en vente, sa vente ou son achat.

Hiervoor in de plaats, en na een grondige verbouwing van het interieur en de nieuwe glazen serre, kunnen we nu naar Stan & Co, of Stan & Me.
Het ziet er schitterend en Passage-waardig uit. Erg Haags ook.

Good Saturday morning everyone, and hope a good one is had by everyone. On my continued walk through the wetlands lat evening I came across about 15-17 of this species, and one by one they started to take off and gave me some decent chances to do some photography of them which is always welcome, so there may be more down the road. As always thank you for the visits.
Een aantal van de, als ik het me goed herinner, dertien ballasttreinen die ingezet werden bij de werkzaamheden van Strukton Rail in Heeze in februari/maart 2023 werd gereden door VolkerRail. Een 'concurrent' die ballasttreinen rijdt voor een ander bedrijf; in de Infrapool kan het.
Door deze samenwerking kon de fraaie combinatie van een VolkerRail loc met de hoge ballastwagens t.b.v. de nieuwe bovenlaag meermaals vastgelegd worden. Tot aan de spanningsloosstelling werd gereden met elektrische tractie. Daarna nam de dieselloc het over.
Op bovenstaande foto zijn we al diep in de buitendienststelling en is er net begonnen met het lossen van de trein; zie de vijfde Fccpps. Dieselloc 203-1 "Tom" trekt de trein tergend traag de overweg over. Het wegverkeer zou nog een hele tijd staan te wachten..!
