Het Stadhuis van Tholen is het voormalige stadhuis van de stad Tholen in de Nederlandse provincie Zeeland, gelegen aan Hoogstraat 12.
Het gebouw, in laatgotische stijl, werd gebouwd omstreeks 1475, dat is na de grote stadsbrand van 1452. Voordien stond een schepenhuis op dezelfde plaats. Het is niet precies bekend wie de bouwmeester was. Dit kan Andries Keldermans of Everaert Spoorwater geweest zijn.
De betrekkelijk smalle gevel is voorzien van kantelen, waarop zich leeuwen bevinden die elk een wapenschild dragen. Hierboven rijst een zeshoekig torentje. De gevel bevat acht beeldnissen, maar waarschijnlijk hebben daar nooit beelden in gestaan.
In 1758 werd een bordes met trap toegevoegd in Lodewijk XV-stijl. Dit was een ontwerp van Lodewijk Muts.
In het torentje hangt een carillon waarvan de oudste klok uit 1458 stamt en van 1624-1627 werden nog negen klokken toegevoegd, gegoten door Michael Burgerhuys. Ook omstreeks 1955 en in 1987 werden nog klokken toegevoegd.
Het interieur omvat een grote hal en een overwelfd deel dat de onderbouw van het torentje vormt. In het gebouw bevindt zich een beulszwaard uit de 2e helft van de 16e eeuw, een schilderij Het laatste oordeel van omstreeks 1530, en een schilderij Salomo's oordeel van 1618.
De naastgelegen panden werden in de 18e eeuw aan het stadhuis toegevoegd. Zo werd het rechter pand, dat uit de 17e eeuw stamt, in 1764 aangekocht. Het linker pand was 18e-eeuws en werd in 1884 grotendeels afgebroken, op één travee na.
These two photos show the Olympic Stadium (Stade Olympique) from two different perspectives. The stadium was home to the 1976 Olympic Games held in Montréal, and is now home to a swim center. You can take a gondola to the top of the tower, but I don't think that there is a great view from up there.

Burj Khalifa (Arabisch: برج خليفة) is een wolkenkrabber in de stad Dubai in de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten. Op 21 september 2004 werd begonnen met de bouw. Op 21 juli 2007 nam de Burj Khalifa de titel 'hoogste gebouw ter wereld' over van de Taipei 101 in Taiwan. Op 17 januari 2009 bereikte de toren haar hoogste punt, met een hoogte van 829,84 meter. Het gebouw werd met groots vuurwerk geopend op 4 januari 2010.

Construction of the Burj Khalifa began in 2004, with the exterior completed in 2009. The primary structure is reinforced concrete. The building was opened in 2010 as part of a new development called Downtown Dubai. It is designed to be the centerpiece of large-scale, mixed-use development. The decision to build the building is reportedly based on the government's decision to diversify from an oil-based economy, and for Dubai to gain international recognition. The building was named in honor of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Abu Dhabi and the UAE government lent Dubai money to pay its debts. The building broke numerous height records.

SAIL Amsterdam is a large maritime manifestation held every five years in Amsterdam. Tall ships from all over the world visit the city and people can visit the ships during four days.
The event was organised for the first time in 1975 to celebrate the 700th anniversary of Amsterdam, under the name 'Sail Amsterdam 700'. At that time, interest in tall ships, which had sunk to a low since the 1930s when the last commercial tall ships had been built, was starting to rise. The success of Sail Amsterdam 700 led to the establishment of the Stichting Sail Amsterdam.
SAIL is one of the largest maritime manifestations in the world, and the largest event of any kind in the Netherlands. Tens of tall ships and hundreds of other historical ships are involved. Numerous other ships and boats are present besides the participating ships, amounting to 8000 boats in the 2005 edition.
Het Paleis van Lodewijk Napoleon in de Nederlandse stad Utrecht was in het begin van de 19e eeuw de residentie van Lodewijk Napoleon, koning van het Koninkrijk Holland.Nadat Lodewijk Napoleon in 1806 door zijn broer Napoleon Bonaparte tot koning van het Koninkrijk Holland was benoemd, vestigde hij zich in eerste instantie op Huis ten Bosch in Den Haag. Omdat hem vanwege zijn artritis het klimaat aan de kust niet erg beviel, besloot hij al in 1807 naar Utrecht te verhuizen.Op de hoek van de Drift en de Wittevrouwenstraat kocht hij naastgelegen panden op waarna binnen enkele maanden een paleis werd gebouwd door J.Th. Thibault en J.D. Zocher Sr. De patriciërshuizen aan de Drift werden samengevoegd en verbouwd, aan de Wittevrouwenstraat werden de lage winkelpanden gesloopt, alleen het Huis Taets van Amerongen op de hoek van de Wittevrouwenstraat en de Rietsteeg (tegenwoordig Keizerstraat) bleef intact.
In januari 1808 was het complex bewoonbaar. Utrecht zou gedurende zo'n half jaar de hoofdstad zijn van het Koninkrijk Holland. Lodewijk Napoleon heeft uiteindelijk slechts korte tijd gebruikgemaakt van zijn Utrechtse paleis. Reeds in april 1808 nam hij in Amsterdam zijn intrek in het Paleis op de Dam. De bouwwerkzaamheden in Utrecht gingen echter door, en in juli 1808 kwam de koning weer naar de stad en kocht de buitens Oud- en Nieuw-Amelisweerd om deze te verbouwen tot koninklijke buitenplaats. Aan het eind van de maand vertrok hij echter weer, om er daarna nog sporadisch terug te komen. Desalniettemin kreeg de residentie in 1809 nog een balzaal.
