Elburg is een Hanzestad in Nederland. Het is gelegen aan het Veluwemeer en het Drontermeer in de provincie Gelderland, en is de hoofdplaats van de gemeente Elburg. De stad Elburg is vooral bekend vanwege haar middeleeuwse vesting met een nagenoeg volledig recht stratenplan. In 2020 telde de plaats Elburg 12.055 inwoners.De voormalige buurtschap Oostendorp is inmiddels aan een nieuwbouwwijk van Elburg vastgegroeid

Durbuy is een stad in de Belgische provincie Luxemburg. De stad aan de rivier de Ourthe is gelegen in drie geografische streken: de Ardennen, de Condroz en de Famenne.
Durbuy is een van de toeristische trekpleisters in Wallonië. Jaarlijks trekt de van oorsprong middeleeuwse stad duizenden toeristen.
Durbuy telt ruim 11.000 inwoners. De stadskern zelf bestaat uit een aantal straten en heeft zo'n 400 inwoners. De overgrote meerderheid van de inwoners van de gemeente woont in een van de dorpjes.
Toeristische bronnen benoemen Durbuy als de kleinste stad ter wereld, maar dit klopt niet. Hum, in Kroatië, is met nog geen 30 inwoners officieel de kleinste stad ter wereld.
En produisant 1 à 3 générations annuelles, le très prolifique argus bleu est largement répandu en Eurasie et compte parmi les papillons les plus communs d’Europe et de France. Au stade de chenille, l’espèce présente comme particularité de vivre avec les fourmis qui prennent soin d’elle, la protègent des parasites et des prédateurs. Zoom sur un bel insecte bleuté qui papillonne quasiment partout : à la campagne, à la montagne et à la ville.

Die Stad Amsterdam (Stadt Amsterdam) ist ein Dreimast-Klipper mit stählernem Rumpf und Vollschiff-Takelung. Sie wurde im Jahre 2000 fertiggestellt und fährt unter niederländischer Flagge.
Sie ist auf den Weltmeeren als Schul- und Charterschiff für Gäste unterwegs und nimmt auch an Regatten und Seglertreffen teil. Im Jahre 2001 gewann die Stad Amsterdam das Cutty Sark Tall Ships’ Race.

The Hague is famous as the International City of Peace and Justice. Also, The Hague is the government city of The Netherlands, and it’s the city where the Dutch Royal Family lives. The city is one of the most multicultural cities in The Netherlands.
Vue aérienne du parc olympique de Montréal prise à partir de l’avion, lors d'un vol entre Francfort en Allemagne et l’aéroport Pierre-Élliott-Trudeau à Montréal au Canada.
La grande surface verte adjacente au parc olympique représente le Jardin botanique et le parc Maisonneuve.
En arrière-plan, on peut voir le fleuve Saint-Laurent, les ponts reliant l'île de Montréal à la rive sud ainsi que les îles Notre-Dame et Sainte-Hélène qui ont été réaménagées dans le cadre de l'Expo 67, l'exposition internationale dont Montréal fut l'hôte à l'été 1967.

Le Stade olympique est un stade omnisports couvert d'une capacité de 56 000 places, pouvant être aménagé jusqu'à une capacité de 65 000 places. Conçu par l'architecte français Roger Taillibert à la demande du maire Jean Drapeau, le Stade avait pour mandat d'accueillir les Jeux olympiques d'été de 1976 dans un premier temps, puis les Expos de Montréal par la suite, qui y ont séjourné à partir de 1977, jusqu'à leur départ, en 2004. Sa tour de 165 mètres de haut, soutenant 75 % de la charge du toit, est la plus haute structure inclinée au monde et elle comporte un funiculaire qui permet de rejoindre un observatoire.
Édifice emblématique de la ville de Montréal, il demeure controversé, étant vu à la fois comme un chef-d’œuvre d'architecture et comme un éléphant blanc. Surnommé en anglais le « Big O » en référence à sa forme vue de haut, c'est le plus grand stade du Canada. Depuis 2012 c'est le stade hivernal de l'Impact de Montréal.
Situé au cœur du Parc olympique de Montréal, le Stade olympique fait partie d'un ensemble d'équipements, comprenant la Tour de Montréal, le Centre sportif, les esplanades extérieures, ainsi qu'un vaste stationnement intérieur de près de 4 000 places. L'espace à la base de la tour abrite le Centre sportif du Parc olympique et le plus grand centre aquatique au Canada, équipé de gymnases, de salles de musculation et de sept piscines.

A l'occasion de l'Euro 2012 de football, les PKP avaient pelliculé une locomotive aux couleurs de chaque pays participants, auxquelles s'ajoutaient quatre machines faisant la promotion des stades où avaient lieu les différents matchs. Au petit matin du 26 Juillet 2012, la 5370 003, portant les couleurs du Danermark, est en charge de l'EN 447 "Jan Kiepura", encore dans sa belle longue composition à l'époque... Le soleil se rapprochait alors sérieusement de l'axe de la voie, suite à un fort retard du train...
Stad Amsterdam (City of Amsterdam) is a three-masted full-rigged tall ship that was built in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 2000 at the Damen Shipyard. The Stad Amsterdam is used for training and as a charter-ship for guests. The crew is international and the official language on board is English. Her home port is Amsterdam.
The clipper is 76 metres in length and features 31 sails with a total area of 2200 square meters. The ship has an authentic transverse rig, a sharp clipper bow and sails as a passenger ship under the Dutch flag.

SAIL Amsterdam is a maritime event held once every five years in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Tall ships from all over the world visit the city to moor in its eastern harbour. SAIL Amsterdam 2025 is the tenth edition, and the first one since 2015 as the 2020 event was cancelled. It was one of the main events celebrating Amsterdam's 750th birthday. It was also 50 years since the first SAIL Amsterdam was held.

In de Spaanse stad Vilanova i la Geltrù ongeveer 40 km ten zuiden van Barcerlona ligt het spoorweg museum van Catalonië (Museu del Ferrocarril de Catalunya). Het spoorwegmuseum dat geopend is in 1990 is gevestigd in een voormalige locomotiefloods, gebouwd aan het einde van de 19e eeuw. Ongeveer 900 arbeiders repareerden en onderhielden daar locomotieven tot 1967, toen deze activiteiten stopten.
De collectie van het museum omvat meer dan zestig voertuigen uit alle periodes van de geschiedenis, diverse landen van herkomst en verschillende tractievormen, waaronder 28 stoomlocomotieven en zelfs een replica van de eerste stoomlocomotief die op het Iberisch Schiereiland heeft gereden.
In mei 2023 bezocht ik dit museum en het is een echte aanradar! Op deze dag had ik tevens het geluk dat het museum geopend was tot 0u00 ivm de jaarlijkse "Night at the museum" en dat leverde enkele leuke plaatjes op.
Hier zien we een kleine line up aan de draaischijf met de 1801, 7001 en 7801 van de Renfe.

In de zomermaanden lopen de bomen uit en kleurt het bladerdak groen. Het is de tijd dat de bootjes druk gebruik maken van de grachten. Op museumtramlijn 20 deden op zaterdag 4 juni 2022 maar liefst drie historische tramstellen dienst. Blauwe motoragen 465 sleept hier middenbalkonbijwagen 946 over de Groentemarktbrug. Een boot komt uit de Lauriergracht en vaart onder de brug door. De toren van de Westerkerk domineert de horizon.
Paul van Baarle en Tim Boric stonden eerder op de parkeergarage om een overeenkomstig beeld vast te leggen. Zij deden dat in het vroege voorjaar met kale bomen en meer zicht op de bebouwing. In de zomermaanden is daarentegen te zien hoe groen de stad is.

The most obvious association with the name 'Edam' is 'cheese'. For centuries the well-known round Edam cheeses have been sent from this litte town to all corners of the world.
The cheese market, once again restored to its place of honor, is enacted weekly during the summer months. And nearby cheese warehouses keep alive the memory of a colourful post. There are also the cheese farms in the area of Edam en Volendam. However, Edam is more than cheese.
Edam is a city with a rich history. It began in the 12th century, when farmers and fishermen settled along the little Ye river. With that 'Yedam' was a fact.
This primitive settlement developed into an increasingly prosperous town well into the 17th century. Shipbuilding played an important role in this growth.
Once Edam had a great number of ship yards building many famous ships. A good example is the 'Halve Maan' (Half Moon), the ship that the Englishman Henry Hudson sailed in 1609 when attempting to discover a northern route to the East Indies.
A futile attempt in fact, because he stranded on the island of Manhattan! Beside shipbuilding, commerce was a major contributor to the thriving development of Edam.
Together with Amsterdam, Hoorn and Enkhuizen, Edam was one of the most important commercial towns in Holland.
Today Edam is a town with authentic 17th century architecture, convincing proof of its rich past. When walking along the old streets and quiet canals, one can easily imagine how it must have been in a Dutch town centuries ago.
