I wanted to try the same star block that's in the center of Seed Packet Promises but in reverse. The stars are in solid and the background uses ten different stacked fabrics. Sure looks different!

South Stack is famous as the location of one of Wales' most spectacular lighthouses, South Stack Lighthouse. It has a height of 41 metres (135 feet). It has a maximum area of 7 acres.

Until 1828 when an iron suspension bridge was built, the only means of crossing the deep water channel on to the island was in a basket which was suspended on a hemp cable. The suspension bridge was replaced in 1964, but by 1983 the bridge had to be closed to the public, due to safety reasons. A new aluminium bridge was built and the lighthouse was reopened for public visits in 1997. Thousands of people flock to the lighthouse every year, thanks to the continued public transport service from Holyhead's town centre.

There are over 400 stone steps down to the footbridge (and not, as local legend suggests, 365), and the descent and ascent provide an opportunity to see some of the 4,000 nesting birds that line the cliffs during the breeding season. The cliffs are part of the RSPB South Stack Cliffs bird reserve, based at Elin's Tower.

The Anglesey Coastal Path passes South Stack, as does the Cybi Circular Walk. The latter has long and short variants; the short walk is 4 miles long and takes around two hours to complete. Travelling from the Breakwater Country Park, other sites along the way are the North Stack Fog Signal station, Caer y Tŵr, Holyhead Mountain and Tŷ Mawr Hut Circles.

Materials from a school project in Evesham. Photos taken by students through the town and along the river were merged using the Focus Stacking tools in Photoshop. They were then printed out for use in a giant collage.

Strombolicchio is a sea stack of volcanic origin 2 km (1.2 mi) to the northeast of the island of Stromboli in the Aeolian Islands of Italy.Geologically, Strombolicchio is a volcanic plug or spine of extremely hard compacted basalt resistant to erosion, and is the remnant of the original volcano from which the island of Stromboli was built up. Eruptions at this site ceased approximately 200,000 years ago. Since then the volcanic activity has moved about 3 km (1.9 mi) to the southwest. It is the only subaerial part of a submarine platform that extends between it and the main island.A lighthouse is located on its summit; it can be reached by a concrete stairway of over 200 steps. The island is a tourist attraction in Stromboli. Its name in the Sicilian language means Little Stromboli.Strombolicchio hosts some very rare species of flora and fauna and has been declared a natural reserve, with severe restrictions on access. Bassia saxicola, for example, an endangered flower at risk of extinction, is otherwise present only in a few hundred specimens on the island of Capri. Podarcis raffonei, a rare lizard classified as at critical risk of extinction, is found only at three other locations, all of which are in the Aeolian Islands: a small islet off the coast of the nearby island of Salina, another islet off the coast of Filicudi, and in some areas of Vulcano.

Vintage lacquer stackable snack dishes. I suspect they were produced in Japan but they don't have any markings.

Stacked books, polymer clay pendant. It is just over 1 inch (3 cm) tall.

I usually make much bigger stuff but I love these little books. They make me smile.

A few images from a recent visit to Stack Rock fort. It is testament to the skill of the engineers and builders of the day that the main structure is still in such good condition.

An old tessellation, reworked with elephant hide. It looks a little better this way, I think.

My car exhaust broke this morning :-( However when I went back at lunchtime, to collect it from the fitters - I noticed this neatly-stacked tyre pile next to where the car was parked. Yay! :-)

I'm going to do a border of Log Cabins using the fabrics from the blocks plus the hot pink centers. Right now, when I look at these, they look like very angry longhorns, however when the sides and bottom rows are on, I hope that longhorn look will go away :)

Stack of oversize books, including two atlases of the imaginary! Plus a large, vintage atlas (bottom of stack), a hardback copy produced in the early 1990s of George Stubb's Horse Anatomy (I so snatched this one up when I found it!) and a book detailing heritage trees of the Great State of Texas.
