Former Adirondack Power and Light plant at Amsterdam, NY on the Erie Canal just upstream of lock E10. The canal follows the Mohawk River here.
As a teen, I traveled the Erie Canal and was fascinated by this plant as we passed on the boat. That was in the late 70's and it was not in use then ether. The 1923 edition of Babcock & Wilcox "Steam, Its Generation and Use" shows an earlier version of the plant consisting of 2 stacks and ending at the third window from the water intake house.

Looking at the books during a party held the day before the grand (general public) opening of the Minneapolis Public Library. This party was for the Friends of the Library -- people who donated money toward the project. Man! What a great party! Drinks, food, live music. It was a fantastic evening.
Trying the idea of the stacked, staggered blocks as a kind of Zentangle tm string, but definitely needs work...

Stacking Experiement.
After this one similar phot few days ago, I tried more of that, but with a bit more control, so digital base photos. Not every subject is suited, but I think this is a variant of „multiexposure“ I like better that the 2 or 3 overlays you have usually. But, honestly, I don't know whether I will put more time in this.
I ended up with 44 pairs of buttons that I can package tonight for Stitches West this week (I have well more than 100 pairs, but the remainder need more sanding/buffing/glazing/whatevering).
The most recent buttons are by far my favorite - less experimental - I was finally *getting it* (yay)!
I'm looking forward to more dedicated (and RELAXED) button time next week!
This is a quick little digital doodle I accomplished in PhotoShop so I could show folks how to create my Fuzzy String tangled doodle design and several others.
