Lichen crusted rocks on the canyon rim -- Flaming Gorge.

Mucking about with enfuse and align_image_stack, free tools that do image blending.

This image is a focus stack, meaning a set of images shot with narrow depth of field (50mm 1:1.4 in this case) but with the plane of focus changing rom front to back. Kind of like an exposure bracket, but with focus.

Softness in the result is unavoidable; it's the 'leftover' image from each out of focus frame.

I think this would work better with a longer focal length and/or a smaller aperture; f/1.4 may simply be too narrow. That's why I think the soft halos are so bad.

Still, an interesting trick to be able to call upon.

South Stack is famous as the location of one of Wales' most spectacular lighthouses, South Stack Lighthouse. It has a height of 41 metres (135 feet). It has a maximum area of 7 acres.

Until 1828 when an iron suspension bridge was built, the only means of crossing the deep water channel on to the island was in a basket which was suspended on a hemp cable. The suspension bridge was replaced in 1964, but by 1983 the bridge had to be closed to the public, due to safety reasons. A new aluminium bridge was built and the lighthouse was reopened for public visits in 1997. Thousands of people flock to the lighthouse every year, thanks to the continued public transport service from Holyhead's town centre.

There are over 400 stone steps down to the footbridge (and not, as local legend suggests, 365), and the descent and ascent provide an opportunity to see some of the 4,000 nesting birds that line the cliffs during the breeding season. The cliffs are part of the RSPB South Stack Cliffs bird reserve, based at Elin's Tower.

The Anglesey Coastal Path passes South Stack, as does the Cybi Circular Walk. The latter has long and short variants; the short walk is 4 miles long and takes around two hours to complete. Travelling from the Breakwater Country Park, other sites along the way are the North Stack Fog Signal station, Caer y Tŵr, Holyhead Mountain and Tŷ Mawr Hut Circles.

A stack of cafe chairs during the day, waiting for the evening when they will be put to use ... and the whole footpath comes to life with food, drink, and smoking customers all jolly and happy.

Before I can do anything with the 6809 Compukit, I need to get it out from underneath the 6502 Compukit. And connect it up to the mains and to the green-screen CRT monitor that's just visible on the shelf behind.

Mon premier résultât...de mon premier Focus stacking :P

My first attempt at focus stacking. Hand held but ended up better than individual shots. Minolta 58mm f/1.2 MC Rokkor-PG with custom EF Canon Mount.

8 denim rugs woven for a customer totaling nearly 40 feet using old denim jeans. Instead of putting it in a landfill we found a new use for the denim.......just like my grandma did!

I wove these on her Union 36 Loom :0)

Focus stacked pond. 7 images. Focussing gradually going back in each image. I have been practising this for a few months and this is the first one that I am happy with.

Not sure my computer liked it - I ran out of scratch disk space and it crashed.

In the foreground the wood which still needs to be stacked, and some of it split smaller. This wood is not for the coming season, but for the next. I need to get it stacked soon though, so I can park my car under the roof.

Saw this done on Minute to Win It. It wasn't as hard as i thought it would be. I only had 5 apples and I was able to stack all 5 in less than a minute.
